Southern Rep Theatre has announced that its Regional Premiere production of A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2, by Lucas Hnath, will extend one additional week, running now through October 28. The production opened Monday, October 8 to rave reviews and is the first Mainstage production of Southern Rep's 2018-19 season in their new permanent home located at 2541 Bayou Road, New Orleans.
East Van Panto returns for a sixth year, welcoming award-winning playwright Marcus Youssef to the creative team. Director Stephen Drover (East Van Panto: Hansel & Gretel) returns, along with Panto favourites Veda Hille, Dawn Petten, and Raugi Yu. This year's production also welcomes Craig Erickson along with Christine Quintana as Dorothy.
Southern Rep Theatre today announced that it has commissioned Louisiana playwright Pamela Davis-Noland to lead a team of artists, neighbors (past & present), and vendors from the historic Bayou Road of New Orleans, to create an interactive, multi-disciplinary play that will premiere next year as part of the theater's 2019-20 season. The announcement of the project, titled BAYOU ROAD: A JOURNEY, A VISION, AND A PLAY, was made live at the re-opening celebration of The Rose Collaborative Campus (formerly the St. Rose de Lima Campus), where Southern Rep is now located permanently at 2541 Bayou Road. At the event, local performance artist Tonya Boyd-Cannon debuted a moving song and monologue from the play in development, which can be viewed here.
The MacDowell Colony has awarded fellowships to 87 artists from 19 states and six countries, from Oregon to Alabama and from Australia to Sweden. Sixty-seven are first-time Fellows. They are working in seven disciplines, and 27 percent identify as culturally diverse. The fellowships are for upcoming autumn and early winter residencies at one of the nation's leading contemporary arts organizations.

Thrasher-Horne Center announces it's 2018 Fall Gallery Exhibit with three artists: Cuban Renaissance artist Ciro Quintana, natural and landscape acrylic artist Sophie Dentist and local versatile photographer John Woods. Each artist will have work featured in the Lee Adams Florida Artist Gallery from August 1 through October 19. The Thrasher-Horne Center Galleries are open to the public Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 3 PM and during select events. Private sales appointments are also available upon request.

“Cada obra tiene una historia personal, representa una memoria, despierta la admiración más grande y nos recuerda el papel que tenemos nosotros los intérpretes de ser los depositarios del legado que han dejado estos compositores. En ese sentido, los músicos somos una especie de vampiros porque vivimos de la herencia que ellos nos dejaron”, mencionó Edison Quintana, pianista, sobre las obras con las que deleitará al público durante su concierto.

Rumble Theatre is thrilled to present Tremors, our festival of emerging talent. This year's festival features a young company of 38 emerging theatre artists who will direct, design, stage manage, tech, produce, and perform in three hot contemporary Canadian plays: Selfie by Christine Quintana, Tiny Replicas by Dave Deveau, and Theory by Norman Yeung. From August 16 to 25, these three plays will be performed in different rooms of the Italian Cultural Centre.
