Chester Theatre Company Welcomes Tara Franklin in a New Role

Tara Franklin, well-known to area audiences for her stage work (including Bar Mitzvah Boy, White Rabbit, Red Rabbit, and Sister Play at Chester Theatre Company) has joined the staff of the organization in a dual role, that of Associate Artistic Director/Director of Education. Additionally, this summer she will appear in Martin Zimmerman's On the Exhale, a one-woman tour-de-force written in the wake of the events at Sandy Hook.

The Drama League Announces Recipients Of The 2019 Directors Project Fellowships

The Drama League has announced the twelve stage directors who have been selected as the 2019 Directing Fellows of The Drama League Directors Project: NJ Agwuna, Sharifa Elkady, Raz Golden, Chika Ike, Rebecca Marzalek-Kelly, Ismael Lara, Jr., Amanda McRaven, Lindsey Hope Pearlman, Ben Randle, Tai Thompson, Gabriel Torres, and Sophia Watt. They will be publicly introduced to the professional theatre community during the 85th Annual Drama League Awards, which will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). Bare Opera To Present MARIA DE BUENOS AIRES

Bare Opera will present Astor Piazzolla's Maria de Buenos Aires, directed by and staring as Maria, MALENA DAYEN, conducted by DAVID ROSENMEYER. Follow Maria, a woman who leaves her small town on the outskirts of Buenos Aires to embark on a journey, not just to the big city, but within to the darkest depths of her soul. In this psychological thriller of mythical proportions, our heroine will confront her shadows, hell itself, and in the end be reborn a new Maria.

Casting Revealed For Political Satire HELL YES I'M TOUGH ENOUGH

Casting has been announced for the World Premiere production of Hell Yes I'm Tough Enough, a modern historical satire exposing the farcical pantomime behind the British 2015 election circuit. Informed by sources within the government, the production stars Ben Hood, Michael Edwards, Cassandra Hercules, Edward Halsted, Venice Van Someren, Mikhail Sen, Annie Tyson, James Bryant and Ben Alderton. The official press night will be Friday 26 April, 7pm at Park Theatre.

KILLING TIME Makes US Premiere At Brits Off Broadway At 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters (Val Day, Artistic Director; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) is thrilled welcome the US premiere of KILLING TIME written by Zoe Mills and directed by Antony Eden. Produced by Word Mills and Dead Letter Perfect in association with the Stephen Joseph Theatre, KILLING TIME begins performances on Thursday, April 18 for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 12. Press Opening is Thursday, April 25 at 7:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Friday at 7:30 PM; Saturday at 2:30 PM & 7:30 PM; and Sunday at 2:30 PM. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison). NOVAE Theatre Presents DON'T LOOK AWAY

Inspired by her family becoming involved in hosting asylum seekers in their homes and Rob Lawrie, the former soldier arrested at the Calais border trying to smuggle a child refugee in his van, writer Grace Chapman started developing Don't Look Away in 2017, the same year it was longlisted for the Papatango playwriting award. Through further development the play now makes its production debut in this small UK tour, culminating in a run as part of the Pleasance Islington's flagship new writing season.

Full Cast Announced For The UK Premiere Of Martin Sherman's GENTLY DOWN THE STREAM

Robert Fox and Alex Turner, in association with Park Theatre and King's Head Theatre, today announce the full cast for the UK premiere of Martin Sherman's new play Gently Down The Stream, following a critically acclaimed run at the Public Theater in New York. Sean Mathias directs Jonathan Hyde, Ben Allen and Harry Lawtey. The production opens at Park Theatre on 18 February 2019, with previews from 13 February, running until 16 March.

Seattle International Dance Festival Winter Mini-Fest Opening Performance Features Shura Baryshnikov

The 2nd Annual Seattle International Dance Festival (SIDF) Winter Mini-Fest features four celebrated choreographers from around the world: Khambatta Dance Company's (KDC) artistic director Cyrus Khambatta, Shura Baryshnikov (Rhode Island) Gabriel Forestieri (NYC) and Danny Tan (Singapore). Together they will unite elements of their collective dance backgrounds swap dancers and present three emotionally-charged performances over two weekends. The concept of producing new pieces in a short time frame is one of the signature components of SIDF.

Martha Graham Dance Company Presents NEW@Graham With Maxine Doyle And Bobbi Jene Smith

The Martha Graham Dance Company's NEW@Graham series offers a look inside the creative process of new works commissioned by the Company. On December 18 and 19, the Company will present a work-in-progress showing of choreographers Maxine Doyle and Bobbi Jene Smith's collaborative work for the Company, followed by a conversation with the artists. NEW@Graham will take place on Tuesday, December 18, and Wednesday, December 19, at 7pm, at the Martha Graham Studio Theater.

Punchdrunk had announced The Punchdrunk Encyclopaedia, the definitive book on the company's work to date, which will be released to mark eighteen years of Punchdrunk's existence. Written by Jo Machon along with the Punchdrunk team and published by Routledge, it will provide the first full-scale, historical account of one of the world's foremost theatre companies, drawn from the collective memory and archives of the core creative team past and present.

ROH Late Launches In The Heart Of Covent Garden
