How quickly should art react? The National's Great Britain opened right on the heels of the 2014 phone-hacking trial, and here again the theatre is speedy with this response to the EU referendum. But, as with Brexit itself, the piece feels rather in limbo: caught in the midst of unfolding events, rather than able to fully and insightfully reflect on them.

Joining the previously announced David Tennant who plays the title role, Adrian Scarborough as Stan and Gawn Grainger as Louis are Theo Barklem-Biggs (Pete), Mark Ebulue (Aloysius), Mark Extance (ensemble), David Jonsson (Col), Dominique Moore (Lottie), Emma Naomi (ensemble), Alice Orr-Ewing (Mattie and Ruby), Himesh Patel (Vagabond), Adrian Richards (ensemble), William Spray (ensemble), Danielle Vitalis (Elvira) and Eleanor Wyld (Dalia) who complete the cast for Patrick Marber's Don Juan in Soho.

There are just three weeks left to see Game of Thrones star Kit Harington on stage in the title role of Doctor Faustus at the Duke of York's Theatre, London. Directed by Jamie Lloyd, this anarchic production of Christopher Marlowe's masterwork, with two acts written by Colin Teevan, must end Saturday 25th June.

Coinciding with the Season 6 premiere of Game of Thrones, Kit Harington opened in the title role of DOCTOR FAUSTUS at Duke of York's Theatre in the West End last night. Jamie Lloyd's contemporary take on Marlowe's play features modern additions by Colin Teevan, replacing the contested middle section, designs by Soutra Kilmour, sound design by Ben and Max Ringham, and movement by Polly Bennett. The cast also includes Jenna Russell as Mephistopheles, Jade Anouka (Wagner), Tom Edden (Good Angel), Danielle Flett (Valdes), Brian Gilligan (Cornelius), Forbes Masson (Lucifer) and Craig Stein (Evil Angel) and ensemble member Gabby Wong.

Transferring to the West End after a sell-out National Theatre run, Duncan Macmillan's PEOPLE, PLACES & THINGS opened last night at Wyndham's Theatre. Directed by Jeremy Herrin, the show is a collaboration between the National and Headlong. It's recently extended its run and is now booking to June 18.

Due to unprecedented demand, the Jamie Lloyd Company's production of Doctor Faustus will extend its run at the Duke of York's Theatre by three weeks. Full casting has also been announced, with Jenna Russell taking the role of Mephistopheles. The cast has been announced today for Nicola Wilson's play Plaques and Tangles at the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs, Royal Court Theatre in London (14 October to 21 November). Initial casting is today announced for the world premiere of Dark Tourism at Park Theatre (PARK90), from 29th September - 24th October, the debut play by Daniel Dingsdale. Amongst the cast are Tamaryn Payne and Jill Winternitz. Directed by Adam Lenson, this brand new play is a biting cultural satire on media cynicism and the world of celebrity, where one can go from nothing to everything and back again in the space of a YouTube video. Press Night is Thursday 1st October, 7pm.
