HER OPPONENT, the dynamic new experiment that re-stages verbatim excerpts from three of 2016's deeply contentious presidential debates (replicating the actual text, gestures, and movements of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump with gender-reversed casting) is garnering rave reviews, with the first coming from MSNBC's Political Writer and Television Host Steve Kornacki, calling it 'absolutely Fascinating.'

Dreamcatcher presents THINGS BEING WHAT THEY ARE

Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional theatre in residence at Oakes Center in Summit, is producing the New Jersey Premiere of Wendy MacLeod's Things Being What They Are. This seriocomedy, written by the Artistic Director of the Kenyon Playwrights Conference, was originally produced at Seattle Rep and then had an extended run at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre. Things Being What They Are runs April 20 - May 7, 2017.

Quincy Tyler Bernstine to Star in Lynn Nottage's INTIMATE APPAREL at McCarter

McCarter Theatre Center closes the 2016-2017 Theater Series with a new production of Pulitzer Prize-winner Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel, a story of an African-American seamstress living in 1905 New York City pursuing her dreams of love and independence. Directed by Jade King Carroll, Intimate Apparel will run from May 5 to June 4.

Playwrights Horizons presents the world premiere production of The Profane, a new play by Zayd Dohrn (Outside People, Reborning). Directed by Kip Fagan (Grand Concourse at Playwrights, Exit Strategy, The Revisionist, Asuncion), The Profane is currently in previews and opens on April 9 at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street) for a run through April 30. The New Disney Musical FREAKY FRIDAY Puts a Contemporary Spin on a Beloved Classic

Cleveland Play House will close out their 2016-17 season with the joyful new musical romp, Freaky Friday. Based on the celebrated novel by Mary Rodgers which spawned two hit Disney films, Freaky Friday tells the story of a mother and daughter who magically swap bodies for 24 chaotic hours. The contemporary update of this American classic includes a hilarious new book by Bridget Carpenter ("Parenthood," "Friday Night Lights"), and a pop?rock score by Tony Award® and Pulitzer Prize winners Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey (Next to Normal, If/Then). Directed by Christopher Ashley, Artistic Director of La Jolla Playhouse, it has been hailed as "a polished, peppy, modern fairy tale" by The Washington Post. With high-energy choreography by Sergio Trujillo (Memphis, Jersey Boys), this vivacious production is "delightfully spunky" with "timeless appeal" (Variety).

The Muny announced today 21 principal cast members for its 99th season. Full company casting will be announced throughout April. The 2017 Muny season opens with Jesus Christ Superstar followed by Disney's The Little Mermaid and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. The season continues with the premiere of All Shook Up! and a newly re- envisioned The Unsinkable Molly Brown. Season 99 closes with A Chorus Line and the much- anticipated Muny debut of Newsies.

Erica and Miles Aubrey to Host SPOTLIGHT AWARDS 5/13

Miles and Erica Aubrey, Nashville-based performers with a broad range of Broadway, TV, film, and music credits, will lead a full day of performance workshops and serve as celebrity co-hosts for the Nashville High School Musical Theatre Awards, or 'Spotlight Awards,' presented in partnership between the nonprofit Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) and Lipscomb University on May 13.
