HartBeat Ensemble Announces 'A' TRAIN, A One-woman Comedy About Motherhood And Autism

HartBeat Ensemble kicks off the new year with A Train, a new play written and performed by California-based artist Anne Torsiglieri. An intimate and oftentimes hilarious tale of one mother's ride through autism, 'A' Train is a unexpected journey replete with tigers, train obsessions, and a healthy dose of sass. The award-winning solo show runs at HartBeat Ensemble's Carriage House Theatre for four performances, February 28 through March 3.

Parity Productions Releases February List of Qualifying Productions

Theatre production company Parity Productions has released its monthly list of Qualifying Productions for February -their popular directory of New York City shows in which the individual creative teams have 50% of the positions filled with cis women and/or trans and gender nonconforming (TGNC) artists (directors, designers, and playwrights). 

Keen Company Announces Cast for NY Premiere of SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY

Today Keen Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein announced the cast for the New York premiere of  Surely Goodness and Mercy, a truly Keen story about an exceptional boy living a troubled life in Newark, NJ who does a good deed for an often unnoticed person.   Sarita Covington, Jay Mazyck, Brenda Pressley, Courtney Thomas, and Cezar Williams will star under Jessi D. Hill's direction. The design team includes Lee Savage (scenic), Nicole Wee (costumes), Devorah Kengmana (lighting), and Sadah Espii Proctor (sound).

Google Developer Advocate Ben Morss and New Jersey Deputy District Attorney Kenneth Levine will delve into questions of internet privacy, cybersecurity, and how much your mobile phone really knows about you at the Luna Stage World Premiere of Christina Gorman's Roan @ The Gates. The two guests will take the stage following two performances: Saturday, February 9 at 8pm and Sunday, February 17 at 3pm.

HOW TO CATCH CREATION Opens Tonight At Goodman Theatre

I'm preparing. I'm expecting. I haven't figured out the path to creation yet. Christina Anderson's bold, imaginative portrait of three artist/intellectual couples exploring personal and professional legacy, How to Catch Creation makes its world premiere at Goodman Theatre. A playwright of note for more than a decade, with previous works at The Public Theater, Yale Repertory Theatre and Playwrights Horizons, Anderson makes her Goodman debut. Niegel Smith, who most recently directed the smash sensation Father Comes Home from the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3) last season at the Goodman, directs Anderson's play, which appeared as a reading in the Goodman's 2017 New Stages Festival.

Tony Award-winning producer Daryl Roth (Kinky Boots, The Normal Heart, Indecent) announced today that Patricia Kalember ("Power," "Sisters," "thirtysomething") will put on the aviator glasses of iconic activist Gloria Steinem in GLORIA: A Life beginning Today, January 29. Christine Lahti will play her final performance as Gloria on January 27.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley announces a special post-show political forum for its production of the Tony and Olivier Award-nominated drama Frost/Nixon. Following the 2pm performance of Frost/Nixon on Saturday, February 2 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, audiences are invited to discuss the history and current relevance of the Watergate scandal with Dr. Theodore Glasser of Stanford University and Dr. Terri Bimes of University of California Berkeley in a conversation moderated by Cameron Wells, the assistant director of Frost/Nixon. Glasser, a professor emeritus of Communication whose research specializes in media practices and press accountability, and Bimes, a lecturer and Assistant Director of Research for the Institute of Governmental Studies who teaches about the presidency, will bring their unique perspectives to this free political forum, open to audience members and community members.

Following in the footsteps of Grease and A Christmas Story, the network will be presenting Jonathan Larson's Rent, a rock musical that is loosely based on Giacomo Puccini's 1896 opera, La boheme.
