Napa Valley Museum Yountville Presents Two Special Events Next Month

 From April 13 through July 14, 2019, Napa Valley Museum Yountville will present Picasso & The Masters of 20th Century Printmaking, in the Main Gallery. This exhibition is a deep dive into the fine art of printmaking as exemplified by Pablo Picasso and the modern masters of the 20th century. The show walks the viewer through the primary printmaking techniques from lithography, mezzotint, engraving and woodcuts to linocuts, pochoirs, and carborundum etching with interactive demonstrations.

FIVE TEENAGERS WALK INTO A BAR To Begin Film This Month Outside Of L.A.

Producer Ron Hanks today announced the start of filming of Five Teenagers Walk Into A Bar later this month outside of Los Angeles.  This coming-of-age, short film tells the story of five barely acquainted teens – an almost-famous Instagram model Nicole Elizabeth Berger, a Goth girl Lana Schwartz, a young transgender person Isaiah Stannard, a blonde truth teller Violet Young and a sassy redhead cheerleader Clara Young – who are abandoned in the middle of the barren desert on a field trip from a fancy LA private school.

MCT Announces The Cast And Creatives Behind ONCE - The Musical

A testament to the power of love and music takes center stage as Mad Cow Theatre opens Once, the multi-award-winning musical.  From the very first note, Once draws you in and never lets go. This emotionally captivating musical is the only show to have won an Oscar, a Grammy, an Olivier Award, and a Tony.  The musical - book by Enda Walsh; music and lyrics by Glenn Hansard and Marketa Irglova - is based on John Carney's Academy Award-winning indie film of the same name. 

HOLMES AND WATSON Are On The Case At Stage West

Sherlock Holmes is dead-he died in a struggle with his nemesis, Professor Moriarty, as both went over the edge of the cliff at Reichenbach Falls.  Or did he? The plot is definitely about to thicken, as Stage West presents the regional premiere of Jeffrey Hatcher's Holmes and Watson, in a 5-week regional premiere run at Stage West beginning Thursday, May 30.

Frist Art Museum Presents 'MONSTERS AND MYTHS: SURREALISM AND WAR IN THE 1930'S AND 1940'S

The Frist Art Museum presents Monsters & Myths: Surrealism and War in the 1930s and 1940s, an exhibition that explores the powerful and unsettling images created in response to the threat of war and fascist rule. Featuring works by Luis Buñuel, Salvador Dali, Max Ernst, Rene Magritte, Joan Miro, Pablo Picasso, Dorothea Tanning, and others, the exhibition will be on display in the Frist's Upper-Level Galleries from June 21 through September 29, 2019.

Collapsing Scenery Shares Heartbreaking Video For SISYPHUS OF THE NEGEV

LA / NYC electro duo Collapsing Scenery (Don De Vore and Reggie Debris) have shared new single 'Sisyphus Of The Negev' and its accompanying video from their anticipated debut album Stress Positions (out June 28, 2019 via Metropolitan Indian). The video, which was filmed when the duo visited the Israeli village of Al-Arakib and tells the heartbreaking story of some of its residents, debuted via New Noise Magazine, who said that 'the song matches this story with a reflective tone, melodically moving through the scenery with a sense of belonging.'

THE THREE MUSKETEERS Closes Out 2018-19 Alley Season

The Alley Theatre and Interim Artistic Director James Black, announce the cast and crew of the 2018-19 Season finale production of Ken Ludwig's The Three Musketeers, adapted from the novel by Alexandre Dumas. Mark Shanahan (Alley's Holmes and Watson, The 39 Steps) returns to direct a cast of 14, which includes Alley Resident Acting Company members, Alley favorites, and artists making their Alley debut. Art New York Returns For Fifth Edition

The highly-anticipated fifth edition of Art New York returns to Pier 94 Thursday, May 2 through Sunday, May 5 during the height of New York's art and cultural season. The Gipsy Kings Head to New York and New Jersey

The show features 50 plus rare and iconic prints by Picasso, Chagall, Miro, Dali, Matisse, Braque, Matta, and Motherwell.  Also includes a fascinating display of printmaking tools and presses from the International Printing Museum and the California College of the Arts.

Violet Young Teams Up With Nashville Recording Artist Jadyn Rylee For New Music Video!

Jadyn Rylee, age 13, travelled to NYC to record the title track to The Promise: A Docuseries on Childhood Cancer and collaborated with Violet Young on a cover of the song  Symphony by Clean Bandit and Zara Larrson.   Both videos were Produced by Risk It Productions, LLC, Directed by Kristi Gatto and Brendan Grant as The Director of Photography. The video was filmed in Contra Studios and recorded at Groove Garden.
