Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS and Jerry Mitchell announce an upcoming edition of BROADWAY BARES: SOLO STRIPS, the return of the sexy new event featuring original strips from the hottest men and women currently on and off Broadway.

In keeping with their series of Opening Night Experience packages, Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) is thrilled to offer an evening that will have the lucky bidder clutching their sides and rolling in the aisles at the opening night of LEND ME A TENOR.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will present the 24th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition on Monday, April 26 (4:30 PM) and Tuesday, April 27 (2:00 PM) at the Minskoff Theatre (200 West 45th Street). The proceeds from the event will benefit BC/EFA.

Last week, as BroadwayWorld previously reported, members of Broadway Bares, Tom Viola (Broadway Cares /Equity Fights AIDS), David Ludwigson (God's Love We Deliver), and The Imperial Court of New York's Emperor XVIII Tony Monteleone & Empress XXIII Anne Tique assembled at Times Square's Red Stairs yesterday in anticipation of the extravagant charity event - the 24th Annual Night of a Thousand Gowns.

Marge Rivingston, the renowned singing teacher of performers like Bette Midler, Maureen McGovern, Robby Benson, Robert DeNiro, Christine Ebersole, Linda Ronstadt, Harry Groener and Meryl Streep, will be conducting a Mini Master Class in Singing and sign copies of her new book, 'Do You Hear What I Hear? The Secrets of One of America's Great Singing Teachers,' at Awakenings Book Store; 25260 La Paz Road; Suite D & E; Laguna Hills, CA 92653 on Sunday, March 21, 2010 from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Tom Viertel, Chairman of the Board of the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, has announced that Stephen Sondheim will present Harold Prince with the organization's Monte Cristo Award at a gala benefit on Monday, April 5, 2010 at Bridgewaters (11 Fulton Street, NYC).

The New York Philharmonic will present SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert on March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. This celebration of the 80th birthday of the great Broadway and film composer/lyricist will include his most enduring orchestral music and songs - performed, in some cases, by the stars of the original Broadway cast productions - in addition to rarely-heard material. Joining the celebration will be (in alphabetical order) Michael Cerveris, Victoria Clark, Jason Danieley, Nathan Gunn, George Hearn, Patti LuPone, Marin Mazzie, Audra McDonald, Donna Murphy, Mandy Patinkin, Bernadette Peters, and others to be announced, including surprise guests. Paul Gemignani, Mr. Sondheim's longtime collaborator, will conduct the New York Philharmonic; Lonny Price is the director; and Mr. Price and Matt Cowart are the producers.

The New York Philharmonic will present SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert on March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 7:30 p.m.

Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS will host a special free advance screening of WAKING SLEEPING BEAUTY, the highly anticipated new film, on Tuesday, March 16 at 7:30 PM at The Directors Guild of America (110 West 57th Street). Immediately after the screening, there will be a discussion featuring the film's director Don Hahn and producer Peter Schneider. The discussion will be moderated by Patrick Pacheco, who conducted interviews for the film.

BROADWAY BACKWARDS 5, the one night only event held Monday at the Vivian Beaumont Theater at Lincoln Center, raised a record-breaking $186,780 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center (The Center).

A special benefit fund-raiser and cocktail reception evening was held Feb 21st for The Active Theater Company and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS at Shetler Studios.

David Hyde Pierce will host the New York Philharmonic's presentation of SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert, Monday, March 15, and Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 7:30 p.m.
