Long-running hit 'The Lion King,' back in Boston through March 21, proves why director and designer Julie Taymor rules the jungle

Casting has been announced for the Philadelphia engagement of Disney's THE LION KING. Philadelphia's most eagerly awaited return will once again leap onto the Academy of Music stage from Tuesday, March 23 to Saturday, April 24.

The national tour production of the long-running Disney musical The Lion King is settling into a month-long run in San Antonio's Majestic Theatre. I had the pleasure of experiencing this eye-popping show for the first time this week.

The San Antonio return of Disney's THE LION KING opens at 8 p.m. tonight Friday, December 11 at the Majestic Theatre for a limited engagement of 4 weeks through January 3, 2010.

Former three-time World Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali and his family attended the Friday, January 9th performance of Disney's THE LION KING at ASU Gammage Auditorium in Tempe, AZ. (Mr. Ali is a resident of Scottsdale, Arizona). THE LION KING National Tour performs in Tempe through Sunday, February 8, 2009.
