Exquisite Corpse Company's month long festival of new work opened August 2nd and runs through August 26th.  The two plays currently running in rep (pictured here) include Phillip Christian Smith's The Chechens and Blake Bishton's Buffalo Buffalo.  The two plays run through August 12th.  Next to open include Alexis Roblan's Liliya and Alisa Zhulina's Kill Joy.

Exquisite Corpse Company is thrilled to announce upcoming festival, THIS IS A DISTRACTION. The festival, a culmination of the ECC's innaugural Playwrights-in-Residence cycle, offers up perspectives of distractions in our modern world. Presented within non-traditional performance space, The Parlour, the festival will feature an art gallery curated by ECC Artistic Director, Tess Howsam, and performances of four original one-act plays.

Creative Coworking announces its new, event series, "The Parlor," presented in partnership with Fierce Productions. On Fridays, April 6, June 1, August 3, October 5, December 7, The Parlor presents interactive performances of dance, music, and theatre. Set in the historic Colvin House, The Parlor is a variety show inspired by the salons de Paris of the 1800s. A salon is defined as a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring host, held partly to amuse one another and partly to refine the taste and expand the knowledge of the participants through conversation.

The Playwriting Collective Announces Recipient of Ball Grant

The Playwriting Collective is proud to announce the recipient of the first annual $1000 Ball Grant as playwright Antu Yacob. In keeping with the mission statement of The Playwriting Collective, this grant is expressly designed for a writer who identifies as living in or emerging from a lower economic status. Antu is an excellent playwright whose work exemplifies the type of artistic voice that The Playwriting Collective champions. Her work is nuanced, resonant, and worthy of support. Six talented writers are joining The Playwriting Collective in 2017! Starting in February Alex Rubin, Jeffrey James Keyes, John Carhart, Kate Garfield, Wi-Moto Nyoka, and Katie Fabel will meet for a 6-week period with Artistic Directors Joshua Young and Phillip Christian in an effort to create several new full-length plays. The Playwriting Collective puts the playwright first and cultivates work that is transmedia. This year the participating playwrights will be motivated to indulge their imaginations and tell stories that are armed with all the weapons of modern stagecraft.
