Playwrights Foundation, the West Coast's premier launchpad for exceptional new plays and playwrights, has revealed the semifinalists and finalists for the 46th Bay Area Playwrights Festival, which will be presented in a hybrid festival.
Exquisite Corpse Company will welcome playwrights Aliyah Curry, Ashley Lauren Rogers, Phillip Gregory Burke, Nelson Diaz-Marcano, Madison Wetzell, and Kaela Mei-Shing to the 2023 Writers Lab.
Joining FORGE from across the U.S. and the world–and bringing their expertise in a vast array of fields including video game design and hairstyling alongside screenwriting, live performance, visual art and multimedia –these sixteen makers have been awarded a fully-subsidized six-month engagement with FORGE NYC, bookmarked with 14 points of contact curated to help them build the skills, systems, plans, and practices that will carry them not only through their current projects, but their life's work as creators.

FRIGID New York will present the 13th Annual The Fire This Time Festival at The Kraine Theater, July 7-10. The festival will feature World Premiere 10-minute plays by early career and under-represented playwrights from the African diaspora, co-directed by Zhailon Levingston and actor, writer, director and TFTT alum Tracey Conyer Lee.

The festival, a culmination of the ECC's innaugural Playwrights-in-Residence cycle, offers up perspectives of distractions in our modern world. On Fridays, April 6, June 1, August 3, October 5, December 7, The Parlor presents interactive performances of dance, music, and theatre. Set in the historic Colvin House, The Parlor is a variety show inspired by the salons de Paris of the 1800s.
