This summer, NYMF will be on quest to save Paradise one Scrabble tile at a time. The new musical, THE LAST WORD will be presented at the Duke on 42nd Street, a NEW 42ND STREET project (229 W 42nd St) . THE LAST WORD is written by Brett Sullivan (Billy Elliot Live Film Director) and will be directed by Michael Bello (Doctor Zhivago), choreography by Nick Kenkel(Gotta Dance, Legally Blonde) and Musical Supervisor is Conrad Helfrich (Dirty Dancing). Musical theater rabble rouser Mr. Joe Iconis brings his unique mash-up of showtune cabaret and rock and roll jamboree back to Musical Theatre Factory on Thursday, November 12th at 10 p.m., Saturday, November 14th at 10 p.m., and Monday, November 15th at 8 p.m.
PBS' Masterpiece Mystery raises the curtain on the final episodes of their adaptations of Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot adventures, starring David Suchet, with their 90 minute version of THE BIG FOUR, based on a novel originally penned by Christie in 1927. However, anyone familiar with the novel should be prepared for significant plot changes and a sentimentally-tinged (but underused) cast of characters in this production, which is indeed theatrically over the top. And for one key SPOILER ALERT: despite the episode's initial framing, Poirot does not die, though anyone worth their Christie salt should be able to see through this from the outset.

Barbara Windsor has joined Theatre Royal Stratford East's fundraising campaign to build a sculpture of the legendary director, Joan Littlewood. The theatre launches a public appeal to raise the final 40% needed for the sculpture International artist Philip Jackson has been commissioned to create the bronze sculpture. The sculpture is due to be installed in spring 2014 in Theatre Square and will coincide with theatre's staging of Oh What A Lovely War.

People.com reports that Queen Elizabeth will have a private screening of the upcoming film MY WEEK WITH MARILYN. The screening will take place at Buckingham Palace. The film takes place in the summer of 1956, when actress Marilyn Monroe, played in the film by Michelle Williams, was making a the movie The Prince and the Show Girl in the United Kingdom. It was during this brief period that the actress met with the Queen. Sources tell People.com that the monarch is curious to see how the meeting is depicted on the big screen.
