Lythgoe Family Panto (LFP), in association with the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, announces Philip Anthony-Rodriguez (NBC's 'Grimm' and ABC Family's 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager') as The Cowardly Lion for the final 4 performances of the world premiere of THE WONDERFUL WINTER OF OZ at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, (300 East Green Street, Pasadena CA 91101) on December 29 at 1:00pm and 6:00pm and December 30 at 12:00pm and 4:00pm. The role of The Cowardly Lion is played by Juan Pablo Di Pace ('Fernando' on Netflix's number one show Fuller House, leading contestant this season on ABC's Dancing With The Stars) at all other performances. THE WONDERFUL WINTER OF OZ opened to rave reviews December 15, and must close December 30.

11th Hour Theatre Company continues its 18-19 season with a Next Step Concert presentation of John Caird's, Stephen Schwartz's and Charles Lisanby's inspirational musical based on the Genesis story, Children of Eden.  11th Hour's Next Step Concert Series is now set to run over two weekends. This family friendly musical runs December 1-9. The pinnacle of EgoPo's 25th Anniversary season and its season-long John Guare Festival will be seeing Guare's Lydie Breeze Trilogy in one of two marathon formats. EgoPo is collaborating with Guare to present all three plays, now titled Cold Harbor, Aipotu, and Madaket Road in a consecutive cycle, with music by Jay Ansill and Cynthia Hopkins. This epic piece of theater about an American family, set between the Civil War and the birth of the 20th-century, runs from April 25-May 6. During this time, there will be two opportunities to see the trilogy over three consecutive evenings, and four opportunities to see all three plays in one day.

The longest running musical in the world The Fantasticks is always at its best when produced and performed with simplicity. When I first saw it in New York in the 60s, it was performed in a cabaret space against a brick wall, with the suspension of a paper moon above. You can't get much simpler than that. In the current revival at the Pasadena Playhouse, the setting is bigger: a dilapidated, war-torn theatre in Southern California, shuttered since 1969, into which the actors enter to create art. The space may be bigger than the original, but the fine work on display maintains simplicity, especially in its message of love. This is a stunning production, one of the very best I have seen, with a magnificent interracial cast under the seamless direction of Seema Sueko.

Deadline reports that Academy Award-winner Anthony Hopkins is joining Kidnapping Freddy Heineken's Daniel Alfredson on new thriller, GO WITH ME. Presented by Enderby Entertainment and The Gotham Group, GO WITH ME is based on Castle Freeman Jr.'s 2008 novel of the same title.

Disney's Aladdin, a new musical comedy based on the Academy Award-winning animated film, opens tomorrow night, March 20th.
