The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts is excited to present its 2016 holiday show, Irving Berlin's White Christmas. The Ordway-produced musical will run Dec. 8-31 for a total of 30 performances.
San Diego Musical Theatre is proud to announce the cast and creative teams for its two holiday productions this season. For the final year SDMT brings Irving Berlin's White Christmas to the historic Spreckels Theatre, with book by David Ives and Paul Blake, directed by Todd Nielsen. White Christmas runs November 25th- December 4th with press opening on Friday, November 25th. SDMT will also present the World Premiere of Miracle on 34th Street: A Live Musical Radio Play directed by Colleen Kollar Smith, adapted by Lance Arthur Smith, with original music by Jon Lorenz. Miracle on 34th Street runs December 1st - 23rd at the Horton Grand Theatre, with press opening on Thursday, December 8th.
The producers of IRVING BERLIN'S WHITE CHRISTMAS, the stage adaptation of the beloved classic film, have announced casting for the upcoming National Tour. The show will star Sean Montgomery as 'Bob Wallace', Jeremy Benton as 'Phil Davis', Kerry Conte as 'Betty Haynes', and Kelly Sheehan as 'Judy Haynes'. Also featured are Lorna Luft as 'Martha Watson', Conrad John Schuck as 'General Waverly', Dave Schoonover as 'Ralph Sheldrake', Aaron Galligan-Stierle as 'Mike Nulty', Frank Ridley as 'Ezekiel Foster', and Clancy and Samantha Penny as 'Susan Waverly'. On September 19, 2016, The New York Pops will return to Feinstein's/54 Below in Manhattan, NY, for a cabaret performance starring Tony nominees Montego Glover and Tony Yazbeck. Yazbeck replaces the previously announced Joshua Henry.

Barrie in the smash hit, record-breaking Broadway musical Finding Neverland. Morrison's final performance will be Sunday, January 24. Before he goes, however, audiences will have only one week to catch Morrison on stage again with his opening night co-star, Emmy Award®-winner Kelsey Grammer, who returns to the show on Tuesday, January 19. Christmas is tailor-made for nostalgia--all those ornaments passed down through the years, all those familiar songs and television specials--and it doesn't get more nostalgic than White Christmas, a show that calls up memories not only of the timeless Irving Berlin song and the 1954 film built around it but of old-fashioned musicals in general, down to the 'let's put on a show in the old barn' angle. The production now playing at the Fine Arts Center embraces that nostalgia from the first sing-along of the title standard, and the holiday crowd was quite content to be carried along with the sentiment.
Tonight, Irving Berlin's White Christmas the Broadway musical opens at The Music Hall in downtown Portsmouth. Presented in a partnership between The Music Hall and the Ogunquit Playhouse, this production marks the largest show on The Music Hall's stage and the largest show of Ogunquit's season. This delightful classic stars Broadway veteran Jeffry Denman reprising his role as Phil Davis, which he played to critical acclaim on Broadway, and Broadway's Joey Sorge, who starred in the Ogunquit production of Nice Work If You Can Get It earlier this season, as Bob Wallace. The singing Haynes sisters are played by Broadway actresses Kate Loprest as Betty, and Vanessa Sonon as Judy. Complete with magical sets and iconic songs, the show is a Christmas Card come to life.
All this yuletide revelry to which I am alluding comes courtesy of BUMT's latest production: Irving Berlin's White Christmas, the onstage updating of the 1954 film version that features a score of the master musician's finest songs as it tells the story of two song-and-dance men and their female counterparts who join together during one particularly mild winter ski season to help save the bacon of an inspiring leader who's played a significant role in their lives. It's a tuneful, feel-good show that's certain to lift your spirits and, as performed by the BUMT cast, reaffirm your faith that the future of musical theater will be thriving for years to come.
