Using improvisation over an extended compositional structure Moss uses each of the 12 movements to express a 'sephira' or 'limb' of the Tree of Life.
Entanglement is a twelve movement suite inspired by Michael Moss' long study of Eastern mythology, physics, and Jungian analytical psychology. Moss artistically and musically presents an ancient metaphysical oracle in present-day form using improvisation over an extended compositional structure to realize his aims. Each of the 12 movements expresses a sephira or "limb" of the Tree of Life. For the Accidental Orchestra Moss has adapted Ain Soph, a 1973 composition recorded by Free Energy on 4th Stream Records (Cross Current, 1978). Ain Soph explores archetypal themes in the Kabbalah and represents the creation myth as a substrate of the Jewish mythical tradition.

This international party band revives the vibrant Persian pop and funk music silenced by the Iranian Revolution. The popular music of Iran in the 60s and 70s combined disco, funk, and Latin beats with Middle Eastern melodies and poetic lyrics. Mitra Sumara interprets hits by Iran's beloved singers such as Googoosh, Soli, Leila Forouhar, and remakes intoxicating Southern Iranian Bandari beat tunes. The band is comprised of musicians drawn from New York's indie-rock, jazz, and avant-garde communities and was founded by singer Yvette Saatchi Perez.

Choreographer Trisha Brown has died on March 18th in San Antonio, Texas, after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her son, Adam Brown, his wife Erin, her four grandchildren – and by her brother Gordon Brown and sister Louisa Brown. Trisha Brown's husband, artist Burt Barr, died on November 7, 2016.
At 78-years old, post-modern choreographer Trisha Brown has established herself as one of the most influential choreographers of our time by articulating the extraordinary mechanics of everyday movement. Ann Arbor's relationship with Trisha Brown pre-dates the 1970 founding of Trisha Brown Dance Company; it was 1965 when Trisha Brown premiered 'Motor,' a work that involved Miss Brown, a Volkswagen Beetle, and a skateboard in the Maynard Street Parking Garage as part of the ONCE Festival. Trisha Brown's collaboration with contemporary visual art giants can not be understated, either: this tour showcases works with significant components created by Robert Rauschenberg, Donald Judd, Robert Ashley, and Laurie Anderson. This is an artist who made her mark pushing boundaries, an artist that we couldn't be prouder to present.
