World Premiere of SHESH YAK Begins at Rattlestick Next Month

Rattlestick Playwrights and LaiLou Productions have announced that the world premiere of Shesh Yak, written by Laith Nakli and directed by Bruce McCarty, will begin previews Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place, west of Seventh Avenue South. The official opening night is set for Thursday, January 29, 2015. The production will play through Sunday, February 22, 2015.

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Visit 'Creativity is GREAT Britain' Reception

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated the creative industries at a Creativity is GREAT Britain reception earlier today at the private work collective NeueHouse in Manhattan. Hosted by the British Ambassador to the United States of America, Sir Peter Westmacott and the British Consul General to New York, Mr. Danny Lopez, the event recognized the impact of the creative sectors to the UK economy including film, television, publishing, art, architecture, fashion, advertising, music, and design and theatre.

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING Begins Tonight at Shakespeare Theatre of NJ

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's 2014 Season will conclude with the Bard's beloved battle of wits, Much Ado About Nothing. Renowned Stratford Festival artist Scott Wentworth will perform 'double duty,' directing the production and playing the staunch bachelor Benedick, opposite his real-life wife Marion Adler as the feisty Beatrice. This production will celebrate the winter holiday season, filled with music and dance that evokes the end of World War II, White Christmas era. Performances begin tonight, December 3rd at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Ave. (at Lancaster Road) in Madison.

Bainbridge Performing Arts is deeply saddened by the loss of former actor, poet, instructor, mentor, and dear friend, Bob McAllister. Bob's BPA career included appearances in Twelve Angry Men and Noises Off, and his poetry was exhibited in the BPA Gallery. He also appeared in the Indie film Jurisdiction, playing Tommy Tongue, the anti-hero psychopath. Bob had an abiding love of theatre, and he had an unshakeable commitment to the community of artists he mentored, loved, and collaborated with at Bainbridge Performing Arts and the Island's entire theatre community.

STC Artistic Director Michael Kahn Honored By British Empire

Michael Kahn, Artistic Director of the Shakespeare Theatre Company, has been inducted as an Honorary Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, a national order of chivalry for British nationals and people who impact the United Kingdom. Kahn was invested into the order by the British Ambassador to the United States, Sir Peter Westmacott, during a private ceremony at the Ambassador's residence in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, April 23, 2013.
