National Ballet of Canada Announces New Initiative 'See The Music, Hear The Dance'

Karen Kain, Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, today announced a new initiative within the popular pre-performance Ballet Talks series, See the Music, Hear the Dance. Led by Principal Conductor and Music Director David Briskin and featuring The National Ballet of Canada Orchestra, the new series invites audiences to deepen their knowledge of the musical language of ballet.

San Francisco Ballet Announces 2017-18 Season

San Francisco Ballet, long recognized for pushing boundaries in dance, has announced its 2017-18 Season program and schedule. This summer, SF Ballet will return to Festival Napa Valley for one performance only on Friday, July 21, 2017, accompanied by members of the SF Ballet Orchestra. In addition, this October, the Company will once again participate in World Ballet Day LIVE, a day-long streaming event (details to be announced).

New York City Ballet to Host 2016 Fall Gala in September

On September 20, 2016, New York City Ballet will open its 2016-17 Season at Lincoln Center with the fifth anniversary of its annual Fall Fashion Gala, featuring an evening of world premiere ballets created by an internationally-acclaimed roster of choreographers and fashion designers.

New York City Ballet will open its 2015-16 Season at Lincoln Center tonight, September 22 with eight performances of Peter Martins' production of Tschaikovsky's Swan Lake, through Tuesday, September 29, to launch the Company's 2015 Fall Season, which will continue for four weeks through Sunday, October 18.

Principals, soloists, and corps de ballet members of New York City Ballet and Boston Ballet perform works by prominent artists including iconic American choreographer Jerome Robbins; New York City Ballet's current resident choreographer Justin Peck; Danish dancer, director, and choreographer Johan Kobborg; and Tony Award-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon, who achieved both his choreographic start and widespread acclaim at New York City Ballet.

Jacob's Pillow to Kick Off 2015 Festival with Performances, Classes, Exhibits, & More, 6/13

May 26, 2015 - (Becket, MA) Following the critical acclaim and record-breaking attendance of Festival 2014, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival opens its 2015 season in June. Highlights of Festival 2015 include Three Acts, Two Dancers, One Radio Host, a special dance and radio stage production starring Ira Glass, host of This American Life; the return of Nederlands Dans Theater 2; the world premiere of American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Daniil Simkin's INTENSIO; Cuban contemporary ensemble Malpaso Dance Company, performing with GRAMMY Award-winning pianist and composer Arturo O'Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble; and the launch of Martha Graham Dance Company's 90th Anniversary, including a world premiere by eminent choreographer Mats Ek.

NYC Ballet Presents a World Premiere by Soloist and Resident Choreographer, Justin Peck

The New York City Ballet presents a World Premiere by NYCB Soloist and Resident Choreographer Justin Peck, which will premiere as part of the Company's annual New Combinations Evening on Wednesday, February 4. Set to Aaron Copland's symphonic score, Four Dance Episodes from Rodeo, the work will feature costumes co-designed by Reid Bartelme, Harriet Jung, and Peck with lighting by Brandon Stirling Baker.
