WP Theater's 2017 Gala, Hosted by Lena Hall, Will Honor Debra Messing and More

WP Theater (formerly Women's Project Theater), under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Lisa McNulty and Managing Director Michael Sag, has announced WP Theater's 32nd Annual Gala, honoring game-changing women with the Women of Achievement Awards. The gala will honor Emmy Award-winning actress and activist Debra Messing ('Will & Grace,' Outside Mullingar) and trailblazing media executive, President of BBC Worldwide North America, Ann M. Sarnoff.

It's simple: if you don't know Meryl Streep, or think she's overrated, you've been living under a rock for the past 30 years or so. Dixon Place to Present Pinocchio Themed PIN AND THE BLUE FAIRY

PIN* AND THE BLUE FAIRY is a new play in development with OUTLIERS Theatre Co, based on Collodi's classic The Adventures of Pinocchio. The play examines the wooden puppet's journey to become a proper boy through the eyes of a contemporary trans teenager named Blue. As Blue attempts to find their own path, they turn to Pin's tale, and their stories intertwine in a search for understanding, transformation, and personal truth.

Breaking News: Elton John and Paul Rudnick Writing THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA Musical

Sir Elton John and Paul Rudnick are writing the new Broadway musical, The Devil Wears Prada. Based on Lauren Weisberger's best-selling 2003 novel and the 2006 blockbuster film from Fox 2000 Pictures and, the new musical will be produced by Kevin McCollum, Fox Stage Productions and Rocket Entertainment.

OTHELLO, Starring Daniel Craig and David Oyelowo, Begins Tonight at NYTW

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) presents Othello, directed by Tony Award winner Sam Gold (Fun Home). Othello will begin previews tonight, November 22, and open on Monday, December 12 at New York Theatre Workshop (79 E. 4th Street New York, NY 10003) for a limited run through Wednesday, January 18, 2017.

Two World Premieres and More Set for Ma-Yi Theater Company's 2016-17 Season

A world-premiere play, Among the Dead by Hansol Jung; a world-premiere musical by Michi Barall, Paul Lieber, and Matt Park, PEER GYNT & the Norwegian Hapa Band; and the special presentation of the hit play The Wong Kids in the Secret of the Space Chupacabra Go! by Lloyd Suh in Manila comprise the season to be produced by Ma-Yi Theater Company during their 2016-2017 season, it is announced by the company's Producing Artistic Director Ralph B. Peña and Executive Director Jorge Z. Ortoll.
