Second Annual POWER POP-A-LICIOUS! MUSIC FEST Set for 11/16-17

The Power Pop-A-Licious II music festival will take place on Friday, November 16 and Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Conceived and curated by power pop legend Paul Collins (co-founder of THE NERVES, THE BREAKAWAYS and THE BEAT), the fest will bring together some of the finest young guitar-driven power pop, garage rock and punk-pop bands from across the U.S. and Canada. Power Pop-A-Licious II is a unifying rally cry for the thriving rock-n-roll subculture, and is a means for power pop fans of all ages to discover a wealth of talented new acts in one power-packed weekend.

Chicago Dancing Festival Kicks Off 6th Season of Free Dance Events, Now thru 8/25

The final program line-up is set for the annual Chicago Dancing Festival, taking place at venues across downtown Chicago today, August 20 through August 25. The Festival, co-produced by renowned choreographer/Chicago native Lar Lubovitch and esteemed Chicago dancer Jay Franke, enters its sixth season, expanded this year to six consecutive days of dance events that are all completely free.

Paul Collins Kicks Off Midwest Tour 2/18 in Milwaukee

PAUL COLLINS (one of the originators of the high-energy sound known as Power Pop and co-founder of THE NERVES, THE BREAKAWAYS and THE BEAT) will be kicking off a Midwest tour on February 18th in Milwaukee with the Lafayette, IN-based garage-pop rockers THE HALF RATS, just prior to PAUL COLLINS BEAT tour of Japan and Australia in March and April.

SIN Closes At The Baruch Arts Center

As previously reported, after 9 previews and 6 performances, Sin played its final performance March 21 at the Baruch Performing Arts Center's Rose Nagelberg Theatre.

SIN Shutters Suddenly Off-Broadway @ Baruch Performing Arts Center

SIN, a mystical comedy, based on Isaac Bashevis Singer's short story 'The Unseen,' adapted by Mark Altman, has closed off-Broadway suddenly, after opening on March 17, 2010. This world premiere production, which played at the Baruch Performing Arts Center's Rose Nagelberg Theatre was directed by Kent Paul. Previews began Tuesday, March 9th. The final performance was March 21, 2010.

38 National Awardees Announced For 41st Annual KCACTF, Held 4/14-4/18

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced 38 national awardees at the 41st annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), April 14-18, 2009. The students from universities and colleges from across the United States secured their places at the national festival and the opportunity to earn awards, scholarships, and fellowships through their success at regional festivals in January and February 2009.
