The Public Theater will launch a new, state-of-the-art website this month. The site, building upon the recent revitalization of The Public's downtown home at Astor Place, establishes a dynamic and engaging digital home at Publictheater.org. The LuEsther T. Mertz Charitable Trust, a long-time funder and supporter for two generations, has awarded The Public a grant supporting this effort and the creation and implementation of innovative field-leading business strategies for The Public Theater. The grant, intended to help ensure the future viability of the institution, includes funds for the redesign and re-launch of Publictheater.org which now incorporates joespub.com and shakespeareinthepark.org.

The Public Theater began performances for the 10th Anniversary of the world-renowned UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL last night, January 8. A highly-anticipated program of The Public Theater's winter season, the 2014 UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL includes artists from across the U.S. and around the world, including 600 HIGHWAYMEN, Lola Arias, Edgar Oliver, tg STAN, SKaGeN, Andrew Ondrejcak, John Hodgman, Sekou Sundiata, Roger Guenveur Smith, Toshi Reagon, and Reg E. Cathey who has joined the cast of FEAST.

This month, the Public Theater will honor composer, musician and songwriter Toshi Reagon with five concerts at Joe's Pub and a special engagement during the Public's annual Under the Radar festival. Reagon will be joined by her band BIGLovely, featuring Judith Casselberry, Adam Widoff, Robert Burke, Fred Cash, Stephanie McKay and Marcelle Davies Lashley.

The Board of Trustees of The Public Theater just announced that Arielle Tepper Madover has been elected as The Public's new Board Chair. Madover, who joined the board in 2009, has been an active member of the Executive Committee, serving as Board Vice-Chair for the last year and Chair of The Public's Commercial Projects Committee since 2011. She was Co-Chair of The Public's 2013 Gala and the 50thAnniversary Gala in 2012, achieving the highest grossing galas in Public Theater history. A Tony Award-winning producer, Madover will serve a three year term effective immediately.
