The Theatre Museum has announced the honorees for the 2014 Theatre Museum Awards for Excellence. The mission of The Theatre Museum is to preserve, protect, and perpetuate the legacy of the theatre. It is the first and only chartered non profit museum dedicated to the history of Theatre. Since 1995 The Awards for Excellence have recognized individuals and organizations for their contribution to theater arts, education, theater history and preservation. The 2014 Theatre Museum Awards will take place on Tuesday, May 27th at 6PMat The Players Club 16 Gramercy Park, NYC.

New Victory's Director of Artistic Programming Mary Rose Lloyd Receives IPAY Award

Mary Rose Lloyd, Director of Artistic Programming for The New Victory Theater, New York's premier theater for kids and families, was honored with the Mickey Miners Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2014 International Performing Arts for Youth (IPAY) Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for her significant impact and contribution to the field of the performing arts for young audiences.

Queens Theatre & Parallel Exit to Present EXIT STAGE LEFT, 12/27-29

Queens Theatre (QT), in conjunction with two-time Drama Desk Nominee Parallel Exit, presents EXIT STAGE LEFT, a rollicking speed-of-light comedy. EXIT STAGE LEFT will play six performances only at Queens Theatre (14 United Nations Avenue South, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens, NY 11368). Performances are December 27th through December 29th at 2pm and 7pm. Leigh Ann Larkin, Kate Rockwell, and Natalie Venetia Set to Lead NEUROSIS Reading

An industry reading of Neurosis: A New Musical will be presented October 24-25 at Ripley-Grier Studios. Neurosis features a book by Allan Rice, music by Ben Green, and lyrics by Greg Edwards. Rice has written for television shows including "The New Adventures of Old Christine" on CBS and the upcoming Kelsey Grammer-Martin Lawrence Project on FX. Green is a veteran of Hasty Pudding Theatricals and a frequent orchestrator for Laurence O'Keefe (Heathers, Sarah Plain and Tall). Edwards, a two-time finalist for the Fred Ebb Award, has collaborated with Marvin Hamlisch and Arthur Laurents.

Berkshire Playwrights Lab Presents Anna Ziegler's LIFE SCIENCE, Now thru 6/30

Berkshire Playwrights Lab will present its first full workshop production, Anna Ziegler's Life Science directed by Joe Cacaci, today, June 19 through June 30 (press opening June 21) at Bard College at Simon's Rock Daniel Arts Center (84 Alford Road, Great Barrington, Mass.). The production will run Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm, with the exception of the Saturday, June 22 performance, which will begin at 9:30pm.

In just two years since its premiere in the spring of 2011, BC Beat has created a family of 32 choreographers, each with a unique tie to Broadway and a dedication to developing theatrical work, including Stephen Hoggett (choreographer of Tony Award winning Once), Camille A. Brown (Camille A. Brown & Dancers, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater), Al Blackstone (Capezio Award Winning Choreographer), Jon Rua (Assistant Choreographer In the Heights, Bring It On the Musical, Hands on a Hard Body), Cherice Barton (Associate Choreographer of Spiderman), and Richard Hinds (Associate Director of Newsies).

Parallel Exit presents MOVE IT! at Canal Park Playhouse, 4/15

Writers in Performance is a 12-week poetry, writing and performance workshop culminating in public presentations. Throughout the course of the workshop, ten talented actors, playwrights, poets and storytellers have explored writing exercises, theater games, improvisation, movement techniques, and ensemble work in a safe, creative environment on the topic of "Anticipation." Writers in Performance participants are diverse by design; not only in ethnicity, but by age, and experience as well, mixing professionals with students.

Parallel Exit's Comedy ROOM 17B Plays Centenary Stage, Now thru 11/11

The physical comedy ensemble Parallel Exit is back by popular demand. The Black Box hit returns with their new comedy, "Room 17B." Known for works which blend theatre, dance, and music, Parallel Exit celebrates the styles of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton with a dash of Monty Python. "Room 17B" will run tonight, November 8th-11th in the Kutz Black Box Theatre.
