Through a generous gift by German philanthropist Dorothee Hennings-Holtmann, the Las Vegas Philharmonic and the Brandenburg State Theater Orchestra, Cottbus are pleased to announce the American German Cultural Exchange Fellowship (AGCEF). This new and unique fellowship partners the Las Vegas Philharmonic with the Cottbus State Theater Orchestra in Cottbus, Germany and will give both organizations the opportunity to exchange guest artists with their respective orchestras.
In their one and only New York recital as a duo this season, violinist Jennifer Koh and pianist Shai Wosner perform a range of repertoire from their nearly ten years of musical collaboration. The program reflects their shared commitment to music of the past and present, comprising three violin sonatas-Beethoven's G major (Op. 96), Debussy's G minor (L. 140), and Faure's A major (Op. 13)-and two contemporary works, Gyorgy Kurtag's Tre Pezzi (1979) and Kaija Saariaho's Tocar (2010). Peoples' Symphony Concerts presents the recital at Washington Irving High School on Saturday, October 15 at 7:30 p.m.

Maestro Christopher Seaman leads the Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra (HSO) in a Sunday afternoon of French Romance featuring popular masterworks by French composers Saint-Saens and Franck, and the HSO debut of violinist Tessa Lark on March 20 at 4 pm. The winner of the prestigious Naumburg International Violin Award, Lark will perform the Saint-Saens Violin Concerto No.3 in B Minor. Lark, who is praised by critics and audiences alike for her astounding range of sounds, technical agility and musical elegance, was named the Silver Medalist of the 2014 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, making her the highest-ranked American-born winner in the Competition's history. The Chamber Music Society of Detroit will present Musicians from Marlboro as part of the Marlboro Music Festival's 50th anniversary 8-city national tour on Saturday, April 9, 2016, 8 PM at Seligman Performing Arts Center.
