Ryann Redmond to Join TITANIQUE for Three Performances Beginning Tonight

Titanique, a send-up of the blockbuster film Titanic, featuring the songs of pop icon Céline Dion, will welcome Broadway star Ryann Redmond (Frozen, Bring it On) to the cast as The Unsinkable Molly Brown for three performances only: Tonight, July 12 at 7pm, July 13 at 7pm, & July 14 at 7pm, at Asylum NYC.

National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) today announced the nominees for the 2020 U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts, one of the nation's highest honors for high school students who exemplify academic and artistic excellence. YoungArts is the sole nominating agency for this high honor and the 60 candidates, representing 16 states and nine artistic disciplines, are all YoungArts Winners. The students have been nominated to the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program for their artistic achievement on the heels of the organization's annual signature program, National YoungArts Week, which concluded in Miami on January 12.

NYO-USA to Make Inaugural Tour to Latin America This Summer

This summer, the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America, featuring 115 outstanding young musicians from across the country, comes together for its fifth year of extraordinary music making, culminating in the orchestra's first-ever tour of Latin America. NYO-USA's 2017 Latin America tour takes place from July 26 through August 4 with orchestra performances in Guadalajara, Mexico; Quito, Ecuador; and Bogota, Colombia, including side-by-side musical collaborations with fellow young musicians in all three tour countries.

The highly anticipated event, directed by Kat Ramsburg, handed out awards in 21 categories ranging from Outstanding Overall Musical Production to Outstanding Lobby Display. The crowd eagerly cheered for Washington's finest teenage performers as awards were accepted, local celebrity presenters spoke and nominated students performed musical excerpts from their acclaimed shows. This Tony Awards style program hosted by The 5th Avenue Theatre is proudly sponsored by Wells Fargo with additional support from Alaska Airlines and The Boeing Company.

Tongue Fu is one of the hottest tickets on the spoken word calendar: a regular collaboration between performance poets, musicians and film. The mix of live, improvised music with poetry and stand-up, in a cabaret-style evening, is slick and funny, and the set-up is attracting big names - such as old hand John Hegley whose career was launched with John Peel Sessions in the 1980s - in this, admittedly slightly niche, field.
