The York Theatre Company, out of an abundance of caution and safety due to a recent COVID outbreak, has POSTPONED performances of the world premiere presentation of Penelope, or How the Odyssey Was Really Written.

Deaf West Theatre to Adapt Best Picture Oscar Nominee CODA Into a Stage Musical

Vendôme Pictures and Pathé Films has announced they are partnering with Tony Award-winning Deaf West Theatre (DJ Kurs, Artistic Director) to develop the stage musical adaptation of the Academy Award-nominated, smash hit film CODA. The film also made history being the first predominantly deaf cast to win the coveted ensemble prize at the SAG Awards.

Beyoncé, Reba McEntire & More to Perform at the Oscars

Beyoncé, Billie Eilish and FINNEAS, Reba McEntire and Sebastián Yatra will perform this year’s nominated songs on the 94th Oscars®, show producers Will Packer and Shayla Cowan announced. Van Morrison was invited to perform his nominated song but will not attend the Oscars due to his tour schedule.

KING SOLOMON'S TREASURE to Open at Whitefire Theatre

The Whitefire Theatre will present King Solomon's Treasure April 7- May 12, 2022. It's New York in 1990. In midtown Manhattan, King Solomon's Treasure is a shop where curios, collectables, and vintage items are for sale, things as disparate as a 30-year-old bottle of Orange Crush and a baseball signed by Jackie Robinson.

World Premiere Musical PENELOPE Begins Performances Tomorrow

The York Theatre Company will present the world premiere of Penelope, or How the Odyssey Was Really Written, a new musical comedy with book & lyrics by Peter Kellogg (York’s Desperate Measures), and music by Stephen Weiner (The Rivals), directed and choreographed by Emily Maltby (York’s Lolita, My Love).

BWW Review: Western Wind Vocal Sextet

Over the weekend, the Grammy-nominated Western Wind Vocal Sextet performed a one-night-only event at Church of St. John's in the West Village. Singers include sopranos Linda Lee Jones and Elizabeth van Os, countertenor Eric S. Brenner, tenors Todd Frizzell and David Vanderwal, and bass Steven Hrycelak. The group was also joined by guest artist Richard Kolb who played the lute and theorbo.

Celebration Theatre is back. After a years-long hiatus of mainstage performances, the company is on a new road to creative change. World Premiere of New Musical SOHO BOY Announced

Soho Boy, a new musical by Paul Emelion Daly about the joys and perils of moving to London, will open at Drayton Arms Theatre, 153 Old Brompton Road, London, SW5,  24 May to 4 June, 2022 over the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday before moving to the Edinburgh Fringe in August.
