Lantern Theater Company announces its 2015-2016 season comprised of two Philadelphia premieres bookending the season, a world premiere at the centerpiece of the year, a remounting of a Barrymore Award-winning production, and the annual Shakespeare production. The season features Photograph 51 by Anna Ziegler, Underneath the Lintel (An Impressive Presentation of Lovely Evidences) by Glen Berger, Oscar Wilde: From the Depths by Charles McMahon, William Shakespeare's As You Like It and 36 Views by Naomi Iizuka.

The Department of Theater/Dance at UC Santa Barbara and director Simon Williams presents a fresh take on Oscar Wilde's famous play, The Importance of Being Earnest. Among the funniest plays ever written, The Importance of Being Earnest is a heady cocktail of mistaken identity, young lovers, hilariously dated elders, high style and pithy social commentary - all reimagined for this production in the 1930s. The Importance of Being Earnest runs tonight, February 13 - 21, 2015 in the Performing Arts Theater on the UC Santa Barbara campus.

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/variety show, will return to Joe's Pub at The Public Theater on Sunday, February 15 at 9:30 PM to continue the Winter/Spring 2015 Season. The February show will be a celebration of International Bottom Appreciation Day, the holiday traditionally held on February 15, the day after Valentine's Day. Ralph Watson, Nick Waring and Patience Tomlinson lead the cast of the The Heart of Things by Giles Cole, which premieres at Jermyn Street Theatre this Spring. Giles is joined by director Knight Mantell, to reform the team that created the hugely acclaimed The Art of Concealment about the life of Terence Rattigan, which was staged at the same theatre in 2012. With impeccable timing, as the 2015 election campaign goes into overdrive and the political parties are once again at each other's throats, Close Quarter Productions presents this poignant and gripping family drama set against the background of the 2010 general election. The production runs from March 10 to April 4 as part of the theatre's twenty-first anniversary year.

Powell III, director, and Franklin Kelly, deputy director and chief curator, National Gallery of Art, announced today that 6,430 works of art have been selected initially from more than 17,000 Corcoran works in the Gallery's custody to join the nation's collection of European and American art. As curators continue to review the collection of the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the newly accessioned objects will have an immediate impact across NGA's collections and will be particularly transformative for its holdings of American art in all media.
