The eight new plays in development at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Playwrights Conference will feature Broadway actress Ali Stroker (Spring Awakening the Deaf West Broadway revival, The GLEE Project), Drama Desk Award-nominee Margo Seibert (ROCKY on Broadway), television's Jeremy Bobb (The Knick, House of Cards, Hostages), Luke Macfarlane (Brothers & Sisters, Mercy Street), and Melanie Nicholls King (The Wire).

Casting and directors have been announced for the eight new plays in development at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Playwrights Conference next month.

Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that Aftermath, written by Jessica Blank & Erik Jensen, and directed by Ms. Blank, will begin performances Tuesday, September 1, at 7pm, at NYTW, 79 East 4th Street, between Second Avenue and Bowery. Opening night is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15 at 7:00pm. The production will run through Sunday, October 4.

The Wilma Theater continues its 30th Anniversary Season with the East Coast Premiere of Scorched, directed by the Wilma's co-Artistic Director Blanka Zizka and written by highly acclaimed Lebanese-Canadian playwright Wajdi Mouawad. An international tour de force, Scorched arrives in the U.S. having received more than 100 productions worldwide. It has been translated into a dozen languages and is currently being adapted into a feature film. The Wilma's production ? only the second U.S. production of the play ? begins previews on February 25, opens on March 4, and closes on March 29, 2009. Presented by Culture Connection Theater, ROAR is a story about family, pain, personal sacrifice and the need for emotional fulfillment. Directed by Elaine Molinaro, the play will be performed from December 4-13 at Where Eagles Dare Studios, located at 347 West 36th Street. Ms. Shamieh will be doing a talk-back after the performance on Sunday, December 7th.
