The professional Centenary Stage Company (CSC) is accepting enrollment into their Dance Conservatory courses for the 2017 fall semester. With professional instructors and schedules fit for working adults and teens, these programs are suitable for amateurs and professionals. The Conservatory of Dance provides the community with affordable, high-quality dance classes and is designed to introduce dancers to professionals who are currently working as choreographers, dancers and educators in dance and theatre at a collegiate level. Classes will run from September 5 - December 18.

A series of live performances - including tap dancing - will take place throughout the summer in conjunction with the exhibit, JAZZED! The Changing Beat of 125th Street at the Children's Museum of Manhattan (CMOM), located at 212 West 83rd Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue. The exhibit itself, in partnership with the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, allows visitors to sing along with Ella Fitzgerald in the 'jazz club,' dance up the stairs with Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson's, and meet Duke Ellington and his famous jazz orchestra in the 'ballroom.' The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis is presenting a modern masterpiece with their soaring production of FLY. The acting is excellent, the direction is sharply focused, and the technical achievements are spectacular. I'm probably going to run out of superlatives before I finish this review, so bear with me as I gush on about one of the most amazing examples of 'action' theatre that I've had the privilege to witness. FLY is a theatrical experience that pays tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen of World War II in a most remarkable way, and it's an absolute must-see event.
