The Colorado New Play Festival (CNPF) (formerly the Perry-Mansfield New Works Festival) is proud to announce the participating theaters for the 2018 season. The 21st Annual Festival, to be held on June 10-16, 2018 in Steamboat Springs, CO, will develop five new works in partnership with the Actors Theatre of Louisville, Alley Theatre, Curious Theatre Company, Primary Stages, and Victory Gardens Theater.

Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) Artistic Director Bill Rauch announced the Festival's 2019 playbill today. North Texas-based theatrical and film producers Gordon Kelly and Robin Benson Linek have developed a way for theatre ticket purchases to double as grass roots support for a new production in Dallas; the North Texas premiere of Michael Marc Bouchard's play Lilies, scheduled to start performance at the Bath House Cultural Center on Friday, May 31, 2017.

This spring, UW Drama students will take on Tony Kushner's seminal, era-defining play about AIDS and homosexuality in 1980s America, Angels in America-at least, they'll take on half of it.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full company for August Wilson's quintessential epic drama Two Trains Running. Confronted with a rapidly changing world in the wake of the death of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the looming demolition of Memphis Lee's diner, Memphis and his regular customers struggle to maintain their solidarity and sense of pride.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced the nine new playwrights today for the 2018-19 Emerging Writers Group. Now in its seventh cycle, the Emerging Writers Group is an ongoing initiative that targets playwrights at the earliest stages of their career, creating an artistic home, and offering support and resources for a diverse group of up-and-coming playwrights.

Encore Theatre District will present the hilarious comedy, Beyond Therapy by Christopher Durang, as the final installment in their inaugural performance season. Beyond Therapy centers around two Manhattanites, Bruce and Prudence, who navigate their romantic lives with the help of their crazed therapists. Bruce is an eccentric bisexual man who likes to cry, which Prudence does not care for. The two go on a disastrous date before reporting back to their therapists-Stuart, who has repeatedly lusted after Prudence, and Charlotte, who attempts to guide Bruce by quoting from Peter Shaffer's play, Equus.

Pulitzer Prize-winning dramatist Quiara Alegria Hudes takes a poignant look at the way war permeates young men's lives in a play spanning three generations of the same Puerto Rican-American family. Elliot is a Marine Corps hero back from Iraq with an injured leg and a Purple Heart. His Pop was wounded in Vietnam; his flute-playing Grandpop fought in Korea. In a fugue-like form, different wars and different tales are strung together as Ginny, his mother, seeks to reconcile the disparate parts and heal emotional wounds. Hudes' spare, intense, and poetically resonant play speaks to the personal cost of war across the ages.

Disney's COCO Reaches $500 Million At Worldwide Box Office

Playwrights Foundation announces FlashPlays!, its 8th annual winter festival on December 16 and 17 (Sat.& Sun.), featuring an evening of newly penned micro plays that together evoke a complex mosaic of San Francisco with its shimmering beauty, fascinating legacy, and the current challenges written by a cadre of the Bay Area's finest playwrights.

Directed by Lee Unkrich ('Toy Story 3'), co-directed by Adrian Molina (story artist 'Monsters University') and produced by Darla K. Anderson ('Toy Story 3'), Disney Pixar's 'Coco' opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2017. Before it hits theaters tomorrow, check out what the critics have to say about the animated film!

Elena Araoz, a critically-acclaimed New York-based director of opera and theater, will direct Shakespeare Festival St. Louis' production of Romeo and Juliet, June 1-24, at Shakespeare Glen in Forest Park. The director originally slated for the production, Taibi Magar, has taken an Off-Broadway project at The Atlantic Theatre Company that will conflict with the St. Louis production dates.
