ArtsWest is pleased to announce the Seattle Premiere of Richard Eyre's powerful new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's Ghosts, featuring the return of award-winning actor Noah Racey to Seattle. Noah Racey has enjoyed an extensive Broadway career in productions of Thoroughly Modern Millie, Never Gonna Dance, Curtains and more. Ghosts marks the first time in 3 years that Noah Racey has appeared on stage in Seattle: theatre fans won't want to miss the opportunity. 

For the first time since opening our doors at ArtsWest Playhouse and Gallery in 1999, the total number of season subscriptions before the season openshas surpassed the prior year's end-of-season total. Subscriptions goals are normally met or surpassed by the end of a given season, but this year we are celebrating before the season even begins. There are other reasons why 2016 is a remarkable year for ArtsWest: in addition to a record-setting revenue for season subscribers, the number of subscribers is at an all-time high for any season opening in our history.

Drama Desk Awards Nominees Rachel Bay Jones (Pippin, Hair, Broadway's upcoming Dear Evan Hanson), Robert Creighton (Cagney, Chicago) & Farah Alvin (The Marvelous Wonderettes, Grease, Saturday Night Fever), in addition to Noah Racey (Never Gonna Dance, Curtains, Thoroughly Modern Millie), Morgan Weed (American Psycho, Rent) & Maxine Linehan just took part in Town Hall's Broadway by the Year Series last night, June 20, THE BROADWAY MUSICALS OF THE 1970s (this is the 16th year of the series).

I first met Noah Racey when I was directing the 2004 Nightlife Awards at Town Hall in New York. He was performing with his co-star from Never Gonna Dance, Nancy Lemenager. If you've never seen him dance, you haven't lived. I got to chat a bit about his stay down here in DC.

With Road Show, Signature Theatre once again proves why they are DC's leading interpreter of Stephen Sondheim's work.

D.C.'s Signature Theatre is currently presenting Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's Road Show directed by Gary Griffin (Broadway's Honeymoon in Vegas, Signature's A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum), and according to the Washington Post, the creative team hopes it could have a future on Broadway.

Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's musical, about the real-life Mizner brothers and their quest for the ever elusive American dream, was praised as "fierce, funny, lean and heartbreaking" by the Chicago Sun-Times when Griffin's production premiered at Chicago Shakespeare Theater in 2014. Road Show will run from February 16 - March 13 in Signature Theatre's intimate MAX Theatre. The Broadway Artists Connection (BAC) concludes it's 2015 season with the BAC ALL STARS Benefit on Sunday, Dec. 13th (3pm) at the legendary Don't Tell Mama.  Hosted by Broadway veteran, Director, Choreographer and Founder of the New York Song & Dance Company Noah Racey, the event will be kicked off by several Broadway pros (listed below). Also featuring the top talent from the BAC open mic series, where casting Director Paul Russell of Paul Russel Casting will be crowning one the 'future of Broadway All Stars 2015.'
