On Sunday January 16, songbird Nita Whitaker returned to Sterling's Upstairs @ Vitello's for a joyfully rousing concert full of great singing and indomitable humor. I am always thrilled when a cabaret exceeds my initial expectations. I had heard Whitaker sing on her website, so I knew I was in for a pleasurable evening, but what I got was a star-stature talent that must be experienced first hand. She is beautiful, very funny and a helluva scintillating singer.

The FNAM closing party will be held on August 21, at 4PM. The concert will feature Jason Robert Brown on the piano, accompanied by special guests Adam Pascal, Lara Pulver, Graham Phillips, Nita Whitaker, and The Theatre Geeks of America singing to several of Brown's works.

It's difficult to put Nita Whitaker into one category. Graced by gospel, trained in opera, honed in pop, Nita's voice is a remarkable instrument that's difficult to define. But when you hear her power chops and sweet bell tones, you know you are in the presence of greatness.
