A LITTLE NEW MUSIC brought the house down on December 8th at Rockwell Table and Stage in LA with a landmark 10th showcase of fresh and exciting musical theater material. Special guest host John Tartaglia (Broadway's AVENUE Q and SHREK THE MUSICAL), brought his sparkling humor to this dynamic evening celebrating the next generation of musical theater artists. In the world premiere of WOOD BOY DOG FISH, playwright Chelsea Sutton has intricately written a very dark re-telling of Pinocchio and his maker Geppetto, fully utilizing the perfect combination of ocean video projections, mood-enhancing  music, modular set pieces, fantastic costumes, and most every effective stagecraft trick in theatrical history (both high-tech and low).

This season's Off-Broadway line-up includes the U.S. Premiere of Howard Barker's Gertrude - The Cry, directed by PTP's Co-Artistic Director Richard Romagnoli, and a revival of David Edgar's Pentecost, directed by PTP's Co-Artistic Director Cheryl Faraone. Nearly fifty visual artists, writers, and actors participate in 10X10on10, a collaborative event of Alchemy Initiative and WAM Theatre. 10X10on10 is a multi-media theater and visual art exhibition exploring women's lives and inspiration throughout life's decades. The event is part of the 2nd annual 10X10 Upstreet Art Festival. The six performances and opening and closing art receptions will be held at Y Bar in Pittsfield from February 16 - 24.

Katie Polebaum has created an original piece of theatre that cleverly mixes the innocence of the past with the horrors of the future in D is for Dog now playing at Studio/Stage in Hollywood. What is most intriguing about Dog is its employment of video and puppetry along with the six actors in telling the bizarre sci-fi story.
