Nina Silver BIO

Nina Silver was born and raised in Manhattan and is now a Los Angeles based stage actor. Off-Broadway, Nina played Mrs. Turing and Clemmie Churchill in PTP/NYC’s production of "Lovesong of the Electric Bear" at Atlantic Stage 2. Nina has appeared with the L.A. Theatre Center in "Habitat" (U.S. premiere), "D is for Dog" at South Coast Repertory, "Songs of Bilitis" at the Getty Villa, "Gogol Project" and "Mr. Punch" at the Bootleg Theatre and the Blue Fairy in "Pinocchio" with Rogue Artists Ensemble, "The Night Before Christmas" (U.S. premiere) with Furious Theatre Co. at the Carrie Hamilton at Pasadena Playhouse. She played Lady Macbeth, Cleopatra, Portia, Celia in "As You Like It" and Brigid O'Shaughnessy in the world premiere of "The Maltese Falcon" at Long Beach Shakespeare Company, the White Witch in "Narnia" the musical at Sierra Madre Playhouse. NYC theatre credits include Meg in "Crimes of the Heart" at Abingdon Theatre, Emilia in "Othello", Rosencrantz in "Hamlet" at Genesis Repertory Ensemble., premiering original musicals, "Wild Wind" and "Whiskey Down" at the NY Fringe Festival, "The Heartbreak Diet" at Theatre for the New City. Regional credits include Gertrude in "Hamlet", Middlebury College visiting artist, and "The After Dinner Joke" by Caryl Churchill with Potomac Theatre Project, DC. In the world premiere of WOOD BOY DOG FISH, playwright Chelsea Sutton has intricately written a very dark re-telling of Pinocchio and his maker Geppetto, fully utilizing the perfect combination of ocean video projections, mood-enhancing  music, modular set pieces, fantastic costumes, and most every effective stagecraft trick in theatrical history (both high-tech and low).

The event is part of the 2nd annual 10X10 Upstreet Art Festival. The six performances and opening and closing art receptions will be held at Y Bar in Pittsfield from February 16 - 24.

BWW Reviews: Bizarre D IS FOR DOG Will Be a Curiosity at Studio/Stage


Katie Polebaum has created an original piece of theatre that cleverly mixes the innocence of the past with the horrors of the future in D is for Dog now playing at Studio/Stage in Hollywood. What is most intriguing about Dog is its employment of video and puppetry along with the six actors in telling the bizarre sci-fi story.
