SILK BATH Coming to Toronto Fringe

Silk Bath is a ruthless, satirical, physical exploration of what it means to be accepted by society, after the citizenship paperwork is signed. Set under the lights of a live reality TV show taping, four immigrants battle it out for a place in their new home. Can we ever shed the label of the outsider?

ADAM BAILEY IS ON FIRE to Play Toronto Fringe

Growing up the son of a minister is never easy, especially when you turn out to be gay. Adam Bailey tackles this aspect of his youth in the follow up to his 2014 Best of Fringe win in Toronto. Throughout the evening Adam shares several true and frank stories about the deeply internal conflicts that exist between sexuality and religious faith. The show promises not to pull punches or be sentimental, instead Adam uses a postmodern whimsy to take us from bible studies in banquet halls to bathhouse dates to his dalliances with pharmaceuticals in a performance that "flies by like a church service on speed" (CBC News Manitoba).

Nina Lee Aquino, Artistic Director of the Factory Theatre describes their 2015/2016 Naked Season as 'pure theatrical encounters between the audience, the actor, the text, and the empty space that we all temporarily share'. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be reimagined, stripped down retelling of gritty Canadian plays, turned out to be a lacklustre and dull night at the theatre.

Factory to Present BANANA BOYS

What exactly is a banana boy? To a group of Asian-Canadian men in their twenties, it's a peculiar predicament; "growing up yellow on the outside, and white on the inside."
