MCC Theater presented its annual Miscast gala last night, March 4, 2013 at The Hammerstein Ballroom (311 West 34th Street). Miscast 2013 honored Tony Award winner Judith Light (Other Desert Cities) for her illustrious screen and stage career (appearing on Broadway this year for her third straight season, this time in Richard Greenberg's upcoming The Assembled Parties), her work with MCC Theater (acclaimed performances in Colder Than Here and Wit), and her impassioned advocacy of several causes, including Arts in Education.

Utah Symphony | Utah Opera Vice President of Symphony Artistic Planning Toby Tolokan yesterday announced the concert lineup for the organization's Tenth Anniversary Deer Valley Music Festival, featuring Utah Symphony performances with high-profile artists such as actor and banjo player Steve Martin with the Steep Canyon Rangers and vocalist Edie Brickell, screen actor and Broadway star Mandy Patinkin, folk rock music duo Indigo Girls and jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval.

Vicki and Chris Le Vine, along with The Broadway Dreams Foundation, presented the third annual White Christmas at Sweetwater Farm and Grace Winery (50 Sweetwater Road, Glen Mills, PA) on Sunday, December 16. The festive old-fashioned piano party and cabaret featured performances by Broadway's brightest stars and talented local BDF students. Each year hundreds of students received valuable musical theatre training through BDF programs offered in partnership with Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. With a book by Austin Winsberg, music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner and direction by Bill Berry, the reading of FIRST DATE will feature Eric Ankrim, Sara Chase, Alli Mauzey, Brandon O'Neill, Brad Oscar, Nicole Parker and Andre Ward.
