Rachel Bay Jones and Jennifer Laura Thompson to Participate in Shubert High School Theatre Festival

Rachel Bay Jones and Jennifer Laura Thompson, who play moms in the hit Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen and are both moms to teenagers in real life, will serve as presenters in the Shubert Foundation High School Theatre Festival for New York City Public Schools. The third annual festival will take place Monday, March 13, 2017 at Broadway's Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street), home to Dear Evan Hansen, at 7 p.m.  More than 100 talented students from five New York City high schools across the city will make their Broadway debuts performing from their selected winter musicals or plays.

Broadway at W Times Square continues to wow audiences and hotel guests with their newly hit concert series featuring Broadway cast members and their respective shows accompanied by acoustic guitar and cajon. On Sunday, Feb. 19th cast members from blockbuster shows Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812 and the 1st national tour of Hamilton shared their amazing talents in the raw, up close and intimate setting of W Times Square Hotel.  Special guest host was Hamilton's, and newly announced Josh Groban successor, Okieriete Onaodowan. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the new Broadway musical NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 invited fans to be a part of the upcoming original Broadway cast recording. Just yesterday, fans joined creator Dave Malloy and members of the cast to sing group chorus sections and to play the show's famous egg shakers for the original Broadway cast recording.
