Sixty years young, last night the National Youth Theatre celebrated its storied past, buoyant present and - with a heartfelt plea for more financial support - essential future in a star-studded diamond gala at Shaftesbury Theatre. Those NYT participants who joined the company in this glittering anniversary year really lucked out, noted my companion, but it was hard to find a dull moment in decades of pioneering, diverse and life-changing work, as illustrated by this affectionate revue.
In the 60th anniversary year of A.A Milne's death and the 90th anniversary of Winnie-the-Pooh's publication, Close Quarter Productions, in association with Jermyn Street Theatre, today announces a new production of Milne's play THE DOVER ROAD. Nichola McAuliffe directs Stefan Berdnarczyk, Tom Durant-Pritchard, Katrina Gibson, Georgia Maguire, Gareth McLeod, Patrick Ryecart and James Sheldon in the production opening at Jermyn Street Theatre, on Tuesday 6 September running until Saturday 1 October.
Comprising works by two luminaries of twentieth century literature, a giant of European Theatre and one of the great English novelists, the season kicks off with Winnie The Pooh creator, A A Milne's 1921 theatrical work The Dover Road, which runs from September 6 to October 1 and is directed by Nichola McAuliffe. The Dover Road, which was first performed in 1921, is a light- hearted comedy set in a mysterious house just off the Dover Road, inhabited by the enigmatic Mr Latimer. Two runaway couples find themselves enjoying the hospitality of a complete stranger, who seems to have an underlying purpose of his own...

The Official Agatha Christie Theatre Company is delighted to announce that Nichola McAuliffe is to join the highly successful UK tour of MURDER ON THE NILE as 'Miss ffiliot-ffoulkes', the role played until recently by Kate O'Mara, who has had to withdraw from the production due to ill health. Nichola will play the role in Coventry, Sheffield, Aberdeen, Dublin and Poole.
