Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) will have a new home for its 2018-19 Theatre Season at 456 Main St., Buffalo, New York. For the past three years, RLTP has been staging their award-winning productions at 500 Pearl St. with an eye to moving into a more permanent space. Working with Ellicott Development Company, RLTP plans to completely renovate the former Baker Shoes building, putting in an intimate stage, lobby and bar to provide a new and exciting option for visitors to Buffalo's vibrant and growing Theater District. The new theater venue, located near Lafayette Square, will offer plenty of amenities that patrons value, including a single-floor access, convenient parking, air conditioning and nearby eclectic dining options.

Madison Square Park Conservancy announces its thirty-sixth exhibition, Delirious Matter by artist Diana Al-Hadid. Six new sculptures are installed across Madison Square Park's central Oval Lawn, peripheral lawns, and northern reflecting pool. Delirious Matter is the artist's first major public art project. It's on view from May 14, 2018- September 3, 2018.
On Thursday, May 24 (7:30 pm) Japan Society presents an evening with two New York-based master instrumentalists: koto player Yumi Kurosawa and shamisen player Yoko Reikano Kimura, who are revitalizing their instruments through novel repertoire, musical approaches, and playing techniques. The eclectic program will span traditional, classical, and contemporary works, including duets of koto + shamisen, shamisen + cello (Hikaru Tamaki) and koto + tabla (Anubrata Chatterjee). Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Auburn ("Proof") will provide opening remarks and Rick Younger, featured actor in "Mean Girls," nominated for 12 Tony Awards, will introduce fellow Broadway performers in a celebration of student playwriting called LEAP OnStage: Rising Voices. The fundraiser will be held Monday, May 21, 6-9 pm, in the event space of National Geographic Encounter: Ocean Odyssey, 226 W. 44th Street. Proceeds will benefit LEAP (Learning through an Expanded Arts Program), an arts education organization that serves more than 20,000 students in 175 schools throughout New York City each year. 2018 marks Arts For All's 10th birthday! Arts For All (AFA) is a non-profit arts outreach organization providing free accessible art programs to children. Over the past decade, AFA has grown to serve approximately 3,000 under-served children each year in schools and youth organizations across all five boroughs in New York City.

New York Youth Symphony (NYYS), is proud to continue its mission of providing an outstanding music education and performance opportunities to students between the ages of 12-22 by launching a new Musical Theater Composition program aimed at diversifying the world of musical theater. The new director and performance information is expected to be announced in summer 2018. Also new in 2018/19 the NYYS Orchestra and Chamber Music Programs will tour together for the first time ever to Spain in 2019, where they will explore cities including Madrid, Granada, and Seville.
On Saturday, May 19, the Mala Waldron Quartet, a group of internationally acclaimed jazz virtuosos headlined by jazz vocalist/pianist/composer Mala accompanied by her top-flight backup group, will make a rare local appearance in Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT)'s Jazz Masters Series. Mala, who recently performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., will perform a sophisticated blend of soulful jazz together with Steve Salerno on guitar, Marcus Mclaurune on bass and Michael T.A. Thompson on drums at WCT's black box performance space, 23 Water St. in Ossining.
