Sylvan Winds Present Final Concert Of Season WINDS & HARP, 9/11

Flushing Town Hall To Receive $60,000 Grant From The National Endowment For The Arts

National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $80 million in grants as part of the NEA's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2018. Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $60,000 to Flushing Town Hall for performing arts programming. The Art Works category is the NEA's largest funding category and supports projects that focus on the creation of art that meets the highest standards of excellence, public engagement with diverse and excellent art, lifelong learning in the arts, and/or the strengthening of communities through the arts.

The American Dance Festival Presents DENDY/DONOVAN PROJECTS Latest Work

The American Dance Festival (ADF) presents Obie, 'Bessie,' and Alpert award-winning choreographer Mark Dendy and director/designer Stephen Donovan's latest work Elvis Everywhere at New York Live Arts on May 10-12 at 7:30pm. 2018 marks Dendy's 35th year as an innovative choreographer on the downtown scene in New York City.

Liam Gallagher and Richard Ashcroft Set to Play SummerStage in Central Park on 5/16

City Parks Foundation is excited to present Liam Gallagher and Richard Ashcroft at SummerStage in Central Park on May 16th, produced by The Bowery Presents. Tickets are available for purchase HERE. Tickets On Sale Today for Jesse Tyler Ferguson Led LOG CABIN

Tickets go on sale to the general public starting today, Wednesday, May 9, for the Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) world premiere production of LOG CABIN, a new play by Pulitzer Prize finalist Jordan Harrison (Marjorie Prime, Maple and Vine, Doris to Darlene at Playwrights; "Orange Is the New Black"). Directed by Tony Award and Obie Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Clybourne Park, The Qualms at Playwrights; Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, The Parisian Woman), LOG CABIN is the sixth and final production of the theater company's current 2017/2018 Season.

Bay Street Theater Announces FROST/NIXON As Second 2018 Mainstage Production

Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the cast and creative team for the second production in their 2018 Mainstage Season: FROST/NIXON, a new play by Peter Morgan, directed by Sarna Lapine. Lincoln Center today announced its annual Out of Doors season of free music and dance, invigorating Damrosch Park and the Lincoln Center campus from July 24 to August 12. One of the country's longest-running free outdoor festivals, now in its 48th edition, Out of Doors intertwines diverse social and cultural dialogues with multi-genre music programming, family events, dance, and spoken word by artists from New York City, across the United States, and beyond in this year's lineup.

Young People's Chorus Of New York City Presents 15th Annual School Choruses Concert

Bringing together over 1,000 young choristers, the Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC) presents its 15th annual, year-end concert for the citywide YPC School Choruses program at The World Famous Apollo Theater (253 West 125th Street) on Thursday, May 17, at 10:45 a.m. The program is directed year-round by YPC Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Nuñez, and the upcoming concert showcases the musical growth of its participants-New York City elementary- and middle-school children-over the course of the school year, during which YPC-trained music educators teach them how to read and write music, sing with healthy vocal technique, and perform as a group.

Now beginning its eighth year, the program brings together early-career and advanced-career artists for a year-long exchange across five different fields: Film, Literature, Performance, Visual Art, and Curatorial Practice.

Cast Announced For FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (Parts 1, 2 & 3)

Goodman Theatre announces the cast and creative team for the Chicago premiere of Father Comes Home From the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3) by Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan-Lori Parks, directed by Niegel Smith. Parks, in her "finest work yet" (New York Times), serves up "an American story as much about our present as it is about our past" (Los Angeles Times). Filled with wit, poetry and original music composed by Grammy Award winner Justin Ellington and performed on stage nightly by Chicago native blues musician Melody Angel, the production follows Hero (Kamal Angelo Bolden), a Texas slave, who faces a simple yet monumental choice: join his master in the Confederate army to win his freedom-or remain enslaved at the plantation. Father Comes Home From the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3) appears May 25 - June 24, 2018 (opening night is June 4 at 7pm) in Goodman Theatre's 350-seat flexible Owen Theatre. F. Murray Abraham, Austin Pendleton, and More Celebrate Theater for the New City's Annual Free Lower East Side Festival

To celebrate the official kick-off of Summer, Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Co-founder and Artistic Director) will host the 23rd annual LOWER EAST SIDE FESTIVAL, a FREE Summer Arts Festivals at Theater for the New City (155 First Ave. at 10th St.). The festival will take place over Memorial Day Weekend, May 25 - 27, 2018 from 6pm - 1am and will feature theater, music, art, dance, video, film, aerial arts, poetry, magic and comedy with over 190 performances over the course of the weekend.
