Anne Frank's remarkable diary has become an essential tool for understanding one of the darkest periods of our history - and one of the most beautiful, haunting stories in our shared experience. The play is dramatized from the book by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett. Making her Rep directorial debut, KJ Sanchez will direct the play. The cast features Associate Artists Jonathan Gillard Daly, Laura Gordon, Lee E. Ernst, James Pickering and Deborah Staples and guest actors J. Alexander Coe, Kelley Faulkner, Larry Neumann, Jr., and rising Chicago actress Lauren Hirte in the title role. Rep Artistic Intern Ensemble Members Jonathan Altman, Emily Berman, Jess Prichard and J.R. Yancher are also in this production. The Diary of Anne Frank runs in The Rep's Quadracci Powerhouse from October 23 - December 2 and opens Today, October 26.

When I heard that the New Victory Theatre, one of the best family theatres in New York (and probably the world) was presenting a show from Circo Para Todos , a professional circus school for disadvantaged and displaced kids in Cali, Colombia, I knew I had to be there to see the show. The Theatre School at DePaul University will present A WRINKLE IN TIME, by Madeleine L'Engle, adapted by John Glore, and directed by Ernie Nolan, as the first installment of the 2012-2013 Chicago Playworks for Families and Young Audiences Series. This production opens Tuesday, October 23, and runs through Saturday, December 1, 2012, at DePaul's historic Merle Reskin Theatre. Performances are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 10 AM and Saturdays at 2 PM. There will be no performances on November 20, 22, 23, or 24. An additional performance will be held on November 28 at 10AM.

The Theatre School at DePaul University has announced that a national search has led to the appointment of Ricardo A. Bracho as the Visiting Multicultural Faculty Member for the upcoming academic year. Also, a national search was conducted for an Assistant Professor position in the Theatre Studies department. This full-time, tenure track position was accepted by Ernie Nolan, who has been teaching, directing, and mentoring in various capacities at the school for three years.
