According to The Wrap, Broadway vet Cheyenne Jackson has joined the cast of a pilot for Lifetime titled 'HR.' The actor joins previously announced cast members Greg Germann, Will Kemp, Kellee Stewar, Maulik Pancholy, Peter Fonda and Cara Mantella.

In celebration of its fourth season, Sanguine Theatre Company will produce EXIT 27, a new work by award-winning playwright, Aleks Merilo and directed by Mark Karafin. Based on a true story, EXIT 27 combines the themes of rejection, survival, and redemption in exploration of the human experience. As the overwhelming winner of Sanguine's highly competitive playwriting competition, EXIT 27 brings a stirring perspective of raw human nature in its NYC premiere.

It's amazing how much sounds and noises made from the audience can be an accurate barometer of whether or not a performance is succeeding. Usually groans and hisses aren't a good sign, but in the case of Fat Pig, the anti-romantic comedy by Neil LaBute, such noises are a compliment, and Theatre En Bloc's current production earns its fair share of them. The show tackles the idea of how cruel we can be to people who don't fit society's size zero ideal of beauty. Needless to say, you may not leave feeling good about yourself or about humanity as a whole, but you'll be largely impressed by the astonishingly talented cast and LaBute's brash and unapologetic script.

Theater LaB Houston returns with its 21st Season of staging the BEST in contemporary theater. The search for a new and intimate venue that complements TLH's home of twenty years has been found at Obsidian Art Space (OAS) located at 3522 White Oak Blvd. Houston, Texas 77007. The four new season productions will be staged at OAS as well as Cock.

MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) just announced that two-time Tony Award winner Judith Light (The Assembled Parties, Other Desert Cities) has been elected to the MCC Board of Directorseffective immediately. Ms. Light began her relationship with MCC in 1999 with a universally-acclaimed performance in Margaret Edson's Wit, and most recently in March 2013 was the honoree at MCC's annual Miscast gala celebrating her illustrious screen and stage career; her appearances in MCC productions, which in addition to Wit includes 2005's Colder Than Here; and her impassioned advocacy of several causes, most especially Arts in Education.

Variety writes that KINKY BOOTS and A TIME TO KILL producer Daryl Roth has named Erica Lynn Schwartz as director of Daryl Roth Productions' DR Theatrical Licensing. She will replace Michael Barra.

With seven premieres on its stages this year, Artists Rep's 2013/14 season reinforces the theatre's longstanding commitment to producing new plays in Portland. With the U.S. premiere of Foxfinder starting October 29, Artists Rep aims to give this play national recognition and offer West Coast audiences the first look at this up-and-coming playwright.

Ferndale's Ringwald Theatre continues its season devoted to The Power of Words with the southeast Michigan premier of reasons to be pretty by Detroit's own Neil LaBute. All performances of reasons to be pretty will be held at The Ringwald Theatre 22742 Woodward Ave, Ferndale MI 48220. La Jolla Playhouse announces a fifth production for its 2013/14 season: the world premiere of The Tallest Tree, a new play with music written and performed by Daniel Beaty (Emergency, Through the Night), directed by Moises Kaufman (I Am My Own Wife, The Laramie Project). A co-production with Kansas City Repertory Theatre, The Tallest Tree will run in The Playhouse's Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre tonight, October 9 - November 3, 2013. The piece is produced in association with Tectonic Theater Project.

'Do we all get more right wing in hard times?' This is the provocation at the heart of this year's Theatre Uncut as it returns to the Young Vic for the second year running with five brand new plays. The flagship London event will feature a new play from comedian and political activist Mark Thomas, a dark satire from Theatre Uncut regular Neil LaBute, a devised piece by Rachel Chavkin from the TEAM, as well as new plays from rising stars Tim Price, Kieran Hurley and Clara Brennan.

Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz, and Rafe Spall star on Broadway in Harold Pinter's Betrayal, directed by ten-time Tony Award-winner Mike Nichols. Betrayal begins performances tonight, October 1 at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). Opening night is Sunday, November 3. Betrayal is a strictly limited engagement, running 14 weeks only, through January 5, 2014.
