The winners of the 'Broadway Star of the Future Award' are Blake Lafita and Francesca Iacovacci, who performed in Palm Harbor University High School's production of Sunday in the Park with George.

The Dr. Phillips Center Florida Hospital School of the Arts announces the ceremony date for the 2016 Applause Awards, taking place in the Walt Disney Theater on June 5, 2016.  Tickets for the awards showcase celebrating excellence in local high school musical theater are $18.00 and may be purchased by visiting the Dr. Phillips Center Box Office at 445 S. Magnolia Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday. Last night (8 March 2016) marked the opening of the West End production of Motown the Musical. With music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalogue and book by Motown founder Berry Gordy,Motown the Musical is directed by Charles Randolph-Wright. School of Rock - The Musical will host the Shubert Foundation High School Theatre Festival for New York City Public Schools on Monday, March 7 at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre.  Alex Brightman, star of School of Rock - The Musical, will emcee the event, Chancellor Carmen Farina, of the New York City Department of Education, will welcome the crowd and introduce the Shubert Organization's Chairman Philip J. Smith and President Robert E. Wankel.  Shubert Foundation President Michael I. Sovern will introduce Brightman.
