On Stage Touring, LLC, in association with Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc., announced today an expanded tour schedule for the new theatrical concert experience ELVIS LIVES "The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Event."
HAIR won the 2009 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival as well as the Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle award for Outstanding Revival of a Musical. HAIR was also nominated for an additional seven Tony Awards including Best Direction, Best Choreography, Best Costume Design, Best Lighting Design and Best Sound Design. The cast recording was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.
The 2009 Tony Award Winning Musical Revival HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, will play Philadelphia's Academy of Music for a limited engagement Jan. 3 - 8 as part of the Broadway Season, which is presented by The Kimmel Center and The Shubert Organization. Monday night marked the 300th performnce for the national tour of HAIR, now performing at Broadways St James Theatre. The Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR kicked of its first national tour at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC on October 28, 2010 (following a preview engagement in New Haven, CT) and played 20 cities around the country before heading back to Broadway for a limited 'Summer of Love' run at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). Tonight's 7:00 PM performance will also mark the national tour's 300th performance. The 2009 Tony Award-winning Musical Revival HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical directed by Diane Paulus is headed back to Broadway for a limited run at the St. James Theater (currently home to AMERICAN IDIOT). The show will play from July 5 - September 10, before heading back onto the road. Several cast members stopped by the St. James to visit their new home this morning and BroadwayWorld was on hand for the photo op!
