Congregation Rodeph Shalom, in association with Burke Cohen Entertainment, presents seven time Emmy Award winner Ed Asner and two-time Tony and Drama Desk Award nominee Johanna Day in a one-night only performance of Jeff Cohen's powerful play The Soap Myth on Wednesday, January 31st at 7 pm at Congregation Rodeph Shalom, (615 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia). The play, directed by Pam Berlin, is part of a tribute to the United Nation's International Holocaust Remembrance Day (January 27), the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Today, producers of the upcoming east coast concert reading tour of Jeff Cohen's acclaimed play The Soap Myth announced that Tony and Drama Desk Award nominee Johanna Day (Sweat) will play the dual roles of holocaust scholar Esther Feinman and holocaust denier Brenda Goodsen.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County (@arshtcenter) is proud to present a staged reading of THE SOAP MYTH, a drama by Jeff Cohen, in honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Directed by Pam Berlin and playing for one night only on January 22 in the Center's John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall, THE SOAP MYTH dramatizes the powerful confrontation between survivor memory and historical memory and depicts the insidiousness of Holocaust denial. Seven-time Emmy Award winner Ed Asner (Pixar's UP, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Lou Grant) and three-time Emmy and Tony Award nominee Kate Burton (Scandal, Grey's Anatomy) will star in the play reading along with Ned Eisenberg and Blair Baker.

The tour will begin on Monday, January 22, 2018 in Miami Beach Florida, and will conclude on Thursday, February 1 at Hofstra University on Long Island.

Last night, Tony Award-winning playwright David Henry Hwang presented the 2017 Kesselring Prize to rising young playwright Lauren Yee at the National Arts Club. John Guare's Six Degrees of Separation, directed by Trip Cullman and starring seven-time Emmy Award winner Allison Janney, Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey and Tony Award nominee Corey Hawkins, will close on Sunday, June 18, 2017.
