Photo Flash: Chance Theater presents VIOLET; Opening Saturday

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is pleased to announce its production of Violet, which will kick off its 20th Anniversary Season. The show has book and lyrics by Brian Crawley, music by Jeanine Tesori, direction and choreography by Kari Hayter, and musical direction by Robyn Manion. Violet will preview from February 2 through February 9; regular performances will begin February 10 and continue through March 4 at Chance Theater @ Bette Aitken theater arts Center on the Cripe Stage.

Michael Scott Ross Debuts Solo Broadway Cabaret At Winter Park Playhouse

Popular performing artist Michael Scott Ross will debut his new solo cabaret, My Broadway: The Roles I Could Play, in The Winter Park Playhouse Spotlight Cabaret Series February 21 and 22, 2018. Mr. Ross will be accompanied by Playhouse Musical Director, Christopher Leavy, on the piano.

Theater Resources Unlimited Presents How To Write A Musical That Works Workshop #2: Conflict & Obstacles, 2/25

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) presents the second workshop in the series How to Wrote a Musical That Works, Conflict & Obstacles, onSunday, February 25, 2018 from 10am - 6pm at NOLA Rehearsal Studio, 244 W 54th St., 5th floor, Studio 5. Submission fee is $10 for members, $20 for non-members. If accepted, it will be applied to a participation fee of $100 ($80 for TRU members). Those not selected will be invited and encouraged to attend the workshop as observers. The price is $55 ($35 for TRU members). Another video from the Stages Musical Theatre Festival was just released this week. New Musicals Inc. aired 51 hours of live streamcast footage of musical theatre readings, concerts, creative sessions, as well as interviews with writers and producers, all part of the most recent Stages Musical Theatre Festival. The Festival ran for fifteen years in Chicago before New Musicals Inc. brought it to the West Coast about a decade ago.

Performances Begin Tomorrow for East Coast Premiere of New Play THE OUTSIDER at Paper Mill Playhouse

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee-Producing Artistic Director, Todd Schmidt-Managing Director), recipient of the 2016 Regional Theatre Tony Award, presents the East Coast premiere of the new play The Outsider by Paul Slade Smith, directed by David Esbjornson (Driving Miss Daisy). Performances begin TOMORROW, Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at 7:30 p.m., for a limited run through Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Paper Mill Playhouse (22 Brookside Drive) in Millburn, NJ. Opening Night is Sunday evening, January 28, 2018, at 7:00 p.m.

Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, The Drowsy Chaperone is a loving send-up of the Jazz Age musical, featuring one show-stopping song after another. Hailed by New York Magazine as The Perfect Broadway Musical, The Drowsy Chaperone has music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison with book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar.

Paper Mill Playhouse Elects Seven New Trustees to Not-For-Profit Theater's Board

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee-Producing Artistic Director, Todd Schmidt-Managing Director), recipient of the 2016 Regional Theatre Tony Award, is proud to announce new members to the theater's Board of Trustees. W. Theodore Bourke, Marshall Everett, Brian A. Gragnolati, Jim Hughes, Charles Pascarella join the board, Governor Thomas H. Kean will serve as an honorary trustee and Dr. Elliot I. Stupak will be welcomed back to Paper Mill Playhouse as trustee emeritus.
