The Royal Shakespeare Company will present dual stage adaptations of Hilary Mantel's bestselling books, WOLF HALL and BRING UP THE BODIES. Adapted for the stage by Mike Poulton, Mantel's books chronicle Cromwell's rise to power during the tumultuous reign of Henry VIII.

Ben Miles will play Thomas Cromwell and Lucy Briers will play Katherine of Aragon in the Royal Shakespeare Company's much-anticipated double bill of Hilary Mantel's Man Booker prize-winning novels, Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies, adapted by Mike Poulton.

According to the Daily Mail, Ben Miles (Coupling) will star as Thomas Cromwell in the Royal Shakespeare Company's winter double-bill of WOLF HALL and BRING UP THE BODIES, based on Hilary Mantel's novels set in the court of Henry VIII.

The Audience, which just began performances in the West End starring Helen Mirren, will be filmed and broadcast live from the Gielgud Theatre for National Theatre Live today, June 13, 2013. For their performances in THE AUDIENCE, both Mirren and Richard McCabe (as former Prime Minister Harold Wilson) won 2013 Olivier Awards for Best Actress and Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

The producers of The Audience today announced Robert Hardy's decision to withdraw from the production. Hardy, 87, recently suffered a fall and cracked some ribs, yet continued to perform at all of the preview performances last week. Over the weekend he has decided that a schedule of eight performances a week over a long run is not sustainable and he has therefore reluctantly decided to stand down. The Producers would like to thank Robert Hardy for his extraordinary contribution to the production and they wish him a speedy recovery.
