Helen McCrory and Nathaniel Parker Star in Little Angel Theatre's MACBETH, Beg. Tonight

By:

A group of extraordinary actors are joining Little Angel Theatre to record the soundtrack of its puppetry production of MACBETH. The stunning visual imagery of the production's puppetry will be matched by a world class vocal soundtrack, which opens for previews tonight, 5th October.

The role of Macbeth will be played by Nathaniel Parker, recently seen in the West End production of The Audience, starring Dame Helen Mirren, and well-known for his role in the BBC's Inspector Lynley Mysteries. Nathaniel began his career at the RSC and returns to them for their 2013 winter season.

Award-winning actress Helen McCrory will play the part of Lady Macbeth. Helen has had a wide career in theatre, film and TV, including a 2006 Olivier Award nomination for her role in As You Like It. In the same year she also appeared as Cherie Blair in the film The Queen. In 2012 she appeared in The Last of the Haussmans at The National Theatre, and has been seen recently in the James Bond film Skyfall and as Narcissa Malfoy in the Harry Potter films.

Donald Sumpter will play the part of King Duncan, drawing on considerable previous Shakespearean experience in roles such as Claudius (Hamlet at Young Vic) and Marcus Andronicus (Titus Andronicus for the RSC). TV viewers will know him from his role as Kemp in Being Human and Maester Luwin in the HBO series Game of Thrones.

Christopher Staines and Brett Brown, playing Macduff and Ross respectively, return to Little Angel Theatre following their roles in the Little Angel/RSC co-production of The Tempest in 2011. Chris Nayak and Steven Maddocks make their Little Angel Theatre debuts as Malcolm and Banquo.

The puppeteers for the performance are Claire Harvey, Lori Hopkins and Lowri James and they also play the parts of the three Witches on the soundtrack, ensuring a strong connection between the audio and visual elements of the production.

MACBETH will be Artistic Director Peter Glanville's parting gift to Little Angel Theatre, which he leaves in November after eight years at the helm. MACBETH is one of the highlights of the 2013 SUSPENSE London Puppetry Festival, which brings puppetry work to adult audiences.

The production runs until 10 November at Little Angel Theatre. Performances are Tuesday to Sunday at 7.30 pm and Saturday and Sunday at 3.30 pm.
