James, currently in the new Les Miserables, joined three other Broadway performers - Benjamin Howes of Scandalous and Mary Poppins, Brian Gonzales of Aladdin and Natalie Joy Johnson of Kinky Boots, accompanied by musical director Nate Buccieri - in a special musical revue, titled 'Putting It Together,' featuring Stephen Sondheim songs, at Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts. TUNE IN TIME, New York City's exciting, new musical theater challenge returns to Stage 72 today, July 1 at 9 pm with a new crop of exciting up-and-coming musical theater songwriters. The composers and lyricists must write a song from a musical whose title is literally picked from a hat, and in the genre determined by a spin of "The Dreaded Genre Wheel." Will it be a historical epic? Something a la Rodgers & Hammerstein? Or even [insert name of large theme-park owning megacorporation-turned-Broadway-megalopolis here]? Oh yeah, and they have just 20 minutes to do it.

Brave musical theater composers and lyricists Kevin Ray, Arianna Rose, Dan Wolpow, Adam Spiegel, Andy Roninson, and Drew Fornarola will step up to the creative plate in the April 7 premiere of the exciting new songwriting competition TUNE IN TIME at Stage 72 (formerly The Triad) at 7pm. The finals will be on April 14 at 7pm.

Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC), dedicated to advancing the art and business of live entertainment, held their 28th Annual MAC Awards celebration last evening at BB King's Blues club in Times Square. Winners in twenty-five categories were announced. The show was hosted by the vivacious singer, band leader, multiple MAC Award winner and 2014 Nominee, Terese Genecco. The gala was produced by Julie Miller and directed by Lennie Watts, the current MAC President. Don Rebic served as Musical Director. Presenters included Will Friedwald of the Wall Street Journal and designer Bob Mackie.

Danielle Grabianowski, the award-winning singing actress whose performances have been likened to 'Barbra Streisand at the Bon Soir and Bette Midler at the Continental Baths' (Village Voice) makes a return to the club scene in an eclectic, impromptu set of standards, stories and pop tunes. She will perform a second show at The Duplex tonight, August 28 at 7:00 PM. Grabianowski was last seen as the jazz singer Josephine Grant in the award-winning Off-Broadway sensation, Sleep No More. The evening will also feature longtime collaborator and fellow Buffalo, NY nativeNate Buccieri on piano.
