Rivendell Theatre Ensemble Announces Cast of THE CAKE

The World Premiere of Don Nguyen's Hello, From the Children of Planet Earth opens tonight, on March 7 at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street project. Presented by The Playwrights Realm (Katherine Kovner, Founding Artistic Director; Roberta Pereira, Producing Director) and directed by Jade King Carroll, this philosophical, and tender comedy is split between the perspectives of a lesbian couple trying to conceive, and their potential-sperm-donor/aerospace engineer friend as they're stretched to contemplate the unknowns of their future.

This autobiographical solo show is sure to leave you entertained, reminiscing about your favorite rock star moments and bad teenage decisions, and enjoying one helluva ride!  Directed by Padraic Lillis, Lucky Chick heads into previews at the Paradise Factory main stage on Thursday, April 19, and Friday, April 20, opens on Saturday, April 21, and runs through Saturday, May 12.

The Hearth Extends Performances Of Gracie Gardner's ATHENA

The Hearth (Artistic Directors Julia Greer and Emma Miller) will extend the World Premiere of Gracie Gardner's female coming of age story, ATHENA, directed by Emma Miller (NYIT nominated director of For Annie) at JACK (505 ½ Waverly Avenue between Fulton and Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn) for additional performances on Tuesday, March 20, Wednesday, March 21, Thursday, March 22, Friday, March 23, and Saturday, March 24 at 8pm. Two very different people thrown together in a hospital room where both their mothers are battling cancer--it's surely not the most auspicious first encounter. But after a hostile beginning, the two find they have some surprising common ground, in Halley Feiffer's outrageously funny, and ultimately touching, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center of New York City. The play begins a 4-week regional premiere run at Stage West on Thursday, March 8.

New York Premiere Of BABETTE'S FEAST Will Begin An Open-Ended Off-Broadway Engagement

Based on the short story by Isak Dinesen (and made famous by the 1987 Academy Award-winning film), Babette's Feast will begin performances Wednesday March 14th at the Theatre at Saint Clement's (423 West 46th Street, between Ninth & Tenth Avenues) for an open-ended Off-Broadway engagement.  Opening Night is set for Sunday March 25th (5pm).  The performance runs 90 minutes with no intermission.
