Angela Muñoz just released “In My Mind,” the second single from her debut album Introspection, due June 19 via Linear Labs and produced by multi-instrumentalist and label head Adrian Younge (The Midnight Hour, Marvel's Luke Cage). “I wrote this song thinking about the journey of love,” notes Muñoz. “Despite my age, I have an awareness of what expressing love looks like. As I was writing this song, I wanted to challenge myself as a songwriter. This led me to imagine myself in the place of George Gershwin. If I could choose anyone to interpret this song it would be Sarah Vaughan. Ultimately, love can manifest itself in many ways.”
Lesley Visser Will Be the First Woman To Receive Lifetime Sports Emmy

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced today that Lesley Visser, the pioneering sports reporter and one of the most highly acclaimed female sportscasters of all time, will become the first woman to receive the Sports Lifetime Achievement Award at the 41st Annual Sports Emmy® Awards. The event will take place in New York City at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall on Tuesday, April 28th, 2020.

The Guild of Music Supervisors held its landmark 10th annual award ceremony this evening at The Wiltern in Los Angeles celebrating outstanding achievement in the craft of Music Supervision in movies, television, games, advertising, and trailers. Over 1,000 attendees joined the Guild to honor the 31 crafts makers, who were recognized for their stellar musical accomplishments in 2019. Industry music legends Burt Bacharach and Bob Hunka crowned the evening as Bacharach received this year's Icon Award, and Hunka received the prestigious Legacy Award. Black Ensemble Theater presents the 15th Annual Black Playwrights Festival as part of the company's Black Playwrights Initiative (BPI). The Black Playwrights Festival will take place January 25-26, 2020 at 3:00pm at the Black Ensemble Theater Cultural Center, 4450 N. Clark Street.
