Joshua Turchin will return to The Green Room 42 with his cabaret series, 'The Early Night Show with Joshua Turchin,' on February 10, 2019 at 2pm. Turchin has previously performed two successful shows, 'The Early Night Show at The Green Room' and the 'West End Lounge,' and regularly music directs and accompanies at The Green Room 42's (YOUNG) cabaret series. Special guests from Broadway, television and film will join Turchin on stage. NBC has it all on New Year's Eve as Carson Daly and Chrissy Teigen host “NBC's New Year's Eve” live from Times Square in New York with Leslie Jones. Keith Urban will perform live from Nashville and host the Jack Daniel's Music City Midnight: New Year's Eve from Nashville's Bicentennial State Park. This incredible line up of talent will introduce the biggest musical acts of the year (to be announced) and join the crowd in saying goodbye to 2018.

Cincinnati Symphony Presents One City 2018

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Louis Langree present this season's One City concert program November 9-10, at Music Hall. The Orchestra, May Festival Chorus, members of the Classical Roots Community Mass Choir and guest vocal soloists Angel Blue, Jennifer Johnson Cano, Rodrick Dixon, and Dashon Burton.will perform Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. The program opens with the world premiere of Ode by CSO Composer-in-Residence Jonathan Bailey Holland.

Country Music Association Visits Students in Houston

The Country Music Association visited Houston yesterday, Monday, Sept. 17, with Josh Kerr, Maddie & Tae and Jon Nite, joining the CMA Foundation to meet with students at Waltrip High School followed by a CMA Songwriters Series Presented by U.S. Bank performance at The Heights Theater. Monday afternoon, the songwriters visited Waltrip High School in the Houston Independent School District (HISD), participating in two band classes and a Q&A session, in addition to being treated to special performances by the students in each class.

Olympia Dukakis To Give Master Class At United Solo

Due to popular demand, United Solo brings back Olympia Dukakis to teach in the Master Class Series on September 16, 2018 at Theatre Row in New York City. The class, "The Importance of Craft," will teach students to identify and develop what is important to them as performers. Ms. Dukakis will explain how to approach the craft of acting as a personal connection to the thoughts, actions, circumstances, and character, as expressed and defined by the text. "My most important tools when I teach are my own sensibility, my personal perceptions, my knowledge of the craft, and the excitement and satisfaction I always feel with students," said Ms. Dukakis.

Live Music Tutor and National Educational Music Company Delivers First Instruments to Music Helps Heal Campaign

Live Music Tutor, a public benefit corporation, and the National Education Music Company have delivered the first shipment of instruments to the School District of Osceola County as a result of the Musichelpsheal.org campaign. The first shipment was about $20,000 of instruments; Yamaha trombones, trumpets, clarinets and flutes, Sonor xylophones, Mapex drums, and others. The Musichelpsheal.org campaign was started to help the students displaced from Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands due to hurricane Maria and is using music to address the emotional and social needs caused by the storm. Many local businesses and organizations have donated instruments, and some have provided cash and grant opportunities. With over 2,600 students displaced and 25-50 additional arriving daily this number will continue to climb.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Glenne Headly, star of Dick Tracy and Mr. Holland's Opus, among others, has died. The actress was 63. Her reps did not provide a cause of death when making their statement.

Sharon Playhouse Sets Star-Studded Casts for 2017 Summer Season

Sharon Playhouse has announced complete casting for its 2017 Season. The season kicks off with MINOR CHARACTER: SIX TRANSLATIONS OF UNCLE VANYA, created by New Saloon (Morgan Green, Madeline Wise, and Milo Cramer), followed by FAR AWAY by Caryl Churchill (Love and Information). The season will conclude with a new, intimate chamber production of Meredith Willson's THE MUSIC MAN. In a shift that begins this season, Morgan Green (William Shakespeare's Mom) will direct all three productions, showcasing the talents and range of the rising director.
