Short Story Theatre Present 4 STORIES: Stories About A Vacation During The Cuban Revolution

Stories about a Vacation During the Cuban Revolution, A 'Decent' Proposal, a Balalaika that Travels the World, and a Dentist Experiencing Three Larry David Moments   Short Story Theatre presents an evening of four warm, wise and wonderful true stories on Thursday, July 26th, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. at Miramar Bistro, 301 Waukegan Ave. in Highwood. 

The Bolshoi Ballet Returns to U.S. Cinemas This July With First-Ever Summer Encores Series

For three Monday evenings in July, ballet fans nationwide can enjoy the Bolshoi Ballet's awe-inspiring performances from the comfort of their local cinemas. The “Bolshoi Ballet Summer Series” brings three classic events back to the big screen for one-evening-only presentations. The series includes Giselle on July 9, featuring ballet superstars Svetlana Zakharova and Sergei Polunin, Alexei Ratmansky's poetic staging of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet on July 16, and classical ballet's most beloved story, born at the Bolshoi Theatre, Swan Lake on July 23. All performances were captured live from the Bolshoi Theatre stage in Moscow, Russia.

THE JUNGLE Wins South Bank Sky Arts Award

The Jungle by Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson has won the South Bank Sky Arts Award in the 2018 Theatre category. The production is set in Europe's largest unofficial refugee camp, the Calais Jungle, which in 2015, became a temporary home for more than 10,000 people. A National Theatre and Young Vic co-production with Good Chance Theatre, The Jungle is directed by Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin. It is currently in previews at the Playhouse Theatre in London's West End, produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, Tom Kirdahy and Hunter Arnold, following a sell-out run at the Young Vic in December 2017.

Telemundo Deportes' exclusive Spanish-language presentation of 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia continues to captivate the Hispanic audience as the network's World Cup broadcast reached 25.7 million viewers in the first 10 days of the tournament's Group Stage (29 matches through Saturday), according to fast cumulative data provided by Nielsen.

The production is set in Europe's largest unofficial refugee camp, the Calais Jungle, which in 2015, became a temporary home for more than 10,000 people. A National Theatre and Young Vic co-production with Good Chance Theatre, The Jungle is written by Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson and directed by Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin. It transfers to the West End, produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, Tom Kirdahy and Hunter Arnold following a sell-out run at the Young Vic in December 2017.

Randy Weston's African Rhythms Quartet to Play Jamaica Performing Arts Center

Pianist and composer Randy Weston will perform with his African Rhythms Quartet on Saturday, July 7th at 7:00 PM, at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center.Born April 6, 1926, in Brooklyn, New York of Jamaican parentage, remarkably Mr. Weston is still performing at full force at 92 years of age.  He is a testament to the vibrancy of music as a medium of spiritual restoration.

Following critical acclaim, and a sold-out run at the Young Vic, producers Sonia Friedman Productions, Tom Kirdahy and Hunter Arnold are delighted to announce the full cast for the West End transfer of Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson's The Jungle, a National Theatre and Young Vic co-production with Good Chance Theatre,directed by Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin. The production is set in Europe's largest unofficial refugee camp, the Calais Jungle, which in 2015, became a temporary home for more than 10,000 people.  Previewing from 16 June, with World Refugee Day on 20 June, The Jungle will have an Opening Night on 5 July at the Playhouse Theatre, with rehearsal photography released today.
