A chaotic evening during the summer of 2018 led to the Upstart Crows' upcoming departure from their traditional Shakespearean programming - the youth acting troupe had just embarked upon a much anticipated trip to the Stratford Festival in Canada, and as it often does, Murphy's Law applied to their travels. They only barely got to their seats as the lights went down for the first production they were to see - Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband - but despite the craziness that preceded the performance, the young actors were enamored with Wilde's wit, and as they left the performance at the end of the evening, a plan to perform some Wilde of their own was quickly formed.
The Country Music Association has wrapped its first-ever international artist-focused touring series, Introducing Nashville, with performances in Australia and New Zealand featuring Brandy Clark, Devin Dawson, Lindsay Ell and Tenille Townes (Australia leg only) followed by two back-to-back shows in Tokyo and an industry event at the U.S. Ambassador to Japan's residence including Frankie Ballard in addition to Clark, Dawson and Ell. Introducing Nashville launched in early March in Berlin and Amsterdam.

Memphis was so fantastical that you can 'stick it in your gas tank and it will make your car run…you can rub it all over your head and watch your hair grow back… it's so good your nagging wife will shut up; your kids will stop screaming…' You catch my drift? It's one hell of a production. I remember watching Once the musical at Actors' Playhouse last year thinking that it was magic and I had those same feelings watching Memphis last night. The moment the curtains rose the tangible energy rippling off the stage was exciting.

Bravo Media's “Project Runway” has tapped supermodel and entrepreneur Karlie Kloss as the host along with former “Project Runway” champion and celebrated CFDA fashion designer Christian Siriano as the mentor for the newly rebooted Emmy Award-winning franchise. Kloss will also serve as executive producer. In addition, ELLE Editor-in-Chief Nina Garcia returns to the series, joined by famed fashion designer Brandon Maxwell and journalist and former Teen Vogue Editor-in-Chief Elaine Welteroth as judges. The announcement was made today by Shari Levine, Executive Vice President, Current Production, Bravo. The series is currently in pre-production and will premiere in 2019.

The role of Coalhouse Walker Jr. in the Lynn Ahrens-Stephen Flaherty-Terrance McNally musical Ragtime is one coveted by actors of all ages - not the least of whom is Siegel High School student Caleb Mitchell, who took on the challenge of bringing the character to life in his school's production of the show earlier this spring. And for his efforts, Mitchell was one of three finalists for The Spotlight Award, the culmination of the 2016-17 Nashville High School Music Theatre Awards.
